I think Quinten sticks no matter what. The kid isn't dumb he knows the coaches are still very much recruiting Gibson.

I want Gibson to get his shot if he signs but I couldn't care less who plays qb as long as we win games.

We'll just have to see how it plays out. Of course Dormady can see UT coaches "recruiting" TG. Recruiting and signing are very different. Also it would depend on what they said to Dormady to get him to commit as quickly as he did. I try to look at recruiting as an unbiased person and not so much a life long fan of a school/team. IF I am a highly recruited talent and have the choice to be "THE" QB for a class, or 1 of "3" in a class, I would probably be headed to the school who thinks I'm enough of a talent to not logjam the position in 1 class. Texas kid and a chance to be the only QB for TCU IMO will be in play IF the coaches try and sign a 3rd QB. Yes, an "ATH" who will line up at QB is a QB as far as I am concerned.

But I agree, who ever plays at a high level and wins games. Whether it be one guy or two. Situational of course.

I think our coaches are honest and told him the plan from the beginning about what they want to do with Gibson, if we land him. Gibson will not affect QD, IMHO.

Just have to wait and see what if anything comes out over the next 5-6 months. Dormady mentioned Jennings as getting a shot at QB. He did not mention Gibson. Of course TG is not committed so that may explain that. I'm curious to see what happens. It's just not a common thing to take 3 kids at QB in the same class. Quinten's dad being a coach I am sure knows that.

Why would QD and his dad question UT taking one of the best players in the country? It's a no brainer. If they think about going elsewhere if we do land Gibson then that shows a fear of competition. Competition breeds greatness.

If we land TG just let everyone battle it out and may the best man win. I still fail to see why this is a bad thing.

Speaking of "fear of competition" is TG going to camp ANYWHERE this summer?...you know?...as a QB?

Camps have absolutely zero to do with if he will compete. He has stated he doesn't care about other qbs being committed and is willing to compete for the job where he signs. If he wasn't he wouldn't wait till after the year.

I still wonder if he's going to be the starter...at QB...for his HIGH SCHOOL TEAM...or if those rumors of a transfer taking the job were unfounded...even if not, some of the scenarios on here is him starting immediately...over Dobbs...as a non EE true freshman still raw at the position...anybody questioning this is labelled a hater of 5* talent...I disagree and will continue to ask questions concerning the depth of his greatness... hope you GIBSON WORSHIPPERS accept this reality...because it's happening. :aggressive:

Edit: Wasn't targeting your reasonable post...just venting my position...getting weary of the label "Gibson hater"

You're listening to Leb a little too much imo. Gibson came out and flat out dismissed those rumors if you'll recall.

And I haven't seen a single post on this site with anyone saying they expect Gibson to start immediately in 2015.

It was a "best case scenario" post 2-3 days back...I'll try to find it...Leb has his own views...as do I...we happen to agree on this one...it comes across condescending to infer that we take direction in our viewpoints...it would be tantamount to saying you listen too much to Bigorangetrain or vice versa...just sayin. :hi:

Hear that Dormady got his 4th star from ESPN and many of the coaches are saying he will blow up with a solid season.

Dormady was higher on Bama's QB board than Barrett.

Expect the Texas -Big 12 schools to continue to work him hard.

If TG waits till national signing day there won't/can't be a problem with Dormady on taking a 3rd QB. At that point everybody is locked in. just saying
