'15 VA DE Darrell Taylor (UT Signee 2/4/15)

Watching the O&W game and saw Kyle Phillips on the sideline. Thought to myself "oh yea forgot he is gonna be available soon"

Then just about completely forgot about Taylor. What a class we signed.

Bump because no good reason at all.

Excellent bump. This kid may be the best athlete of the 2015 class. Looking forward to seeing him this fall. Could he be our surprise freshman stud this year?

Built just like Leonard Little in high school.

Now that we have so many early enrollees coming in every year, some people assume that they are the only ones who will make an early impact and they tend to forget about guys like Taylor. Barnett didn't come in until June and made a huge impact and Taylor can do the same.

Yep Barnett showed up Hendrix and sent him packing like a wuss. Funny thing is Hendrix would be getting all first team reps this spring probably. And we'd be drooling over his potential. But he crapped the bed. Who knows he may be a bust. Personally I don't think so but we'll see... I think he landed at Pitt yesterday

neither did Cam Sutton or Marquez North in 2013. our best freshmen the last couple of years (excluding Jalen Hurd) have been the guys who arrived in the summer rather than the early enrollees.

I got a feeling, Kahlil McKenzie, Kyle Phillips, and Drew Richmond will be the freshmen with the most impact next fall.

Hope we can let Richmond RS, develop, and build him into a machine for next year's title run.

Pitt is gonna improve greatly and save on recruiting budget just from their Big Orange Pipeline.

"Naw kid, we get it, you couldn't crack the 2 deep at Tennessee...you will walk into the starting position for the Panthers. CBJ sent this message...give PSU hades!"
:)

It'd be nice but I think he'll be too good to RS honestly.

I agree. IMO, most of the guys we are bringing in now aren't thinking about being here 5 years. Not saying we will never redshirt anyone, must think most of these guys are thinking closer to 3 years than 5. And if they aren't gonna RS then we need to get them on the field and get them some in game snaps.

We're no longer in the RS business ya'll. Only teams that redshirt are the non-elites like Missouri and Michigan State who turn 3 star guys into NFL players or Alabama who has waves of 4 star and 5 star guys coming in each year. We're now a team in the mold LSU or Florida have been the last decade or so. We're getting our fair share of highly touted 4/5 star prospects that will get on the field ASAP and probably be gone in 3 years.

I guarantee you Drew Richmond will not be around past the 2017 season. No reason to redshirt him if he's moving on to the next level in 3 years.

I think Hurd, Barnett, and McKenzie are much better examples of surefire 3 year guys. Richmond hasn't proven to be at their level of a sure thing, yet. He could, but he's got a lot to prove still.

I don't disagree with what you are saying here. I disagree with the logic you are using. What has McKenzie proven that Richmond hasn't?

I really disagree here. Teams with great depth redshirt

We have not been red shirting much because if the lack of talent. I would expect an opposite swing

Just beyond dominant against every hs player he faced. Richmond wasn't clearly the best at every camp he went to. In fact he looked average sometimes.

You're right though, kmac still has to prove it in college too.

We don't have great depth at OL. Heck we don't even have great starters.

But I agree at most other positions.
