very true.. I would love to have Settle play for UT,but Butch and Co. are paid to make these decisions and I will roll with whatever they decide... I wouldn't even begin to try the crap rolling around in the TG and QD threads..thats for them to decide,not me...

I think DJ called and gave a commitment to the coaches is why Settle changed leaders. JMO of course. Maybe the coaches like what they see early from the potential DT kids that they signed this class, and feel they only need to take 2 elite DTs this class. I still think they should take Settle if he wanted in, but I don't get paid $3 million a year to make those decisions.

I'd love to have him but don't we keep hearing that he is having academic trouble. I'd rather take Mckenzie, and Jones and possibly Quentez Johnson then risk taking Settle and him mot qualifying.

IMO Johnson is the "slow play" option for McKenzie and Jones. I think if they get those 2, that's it. With news that Johnson may wait till closer to NSD, he is the perfect candidate to be the fall back guy for the Vols this year. Get the other 2, we pass. Miss on Jones and Johnson would be a good get late. JMO

I agree... the not qualifying part is what one fan from Clemson said TS wasnt getting into any school,he would have to go the JUCO or prep route...don't know how true it is... KM,DJ, and maybe Shy Tuttle would be a killer DL class...KM and DJ alone would be a killer DL class,only bad part is they would only have 2 years max to play together... but if you can get Tuttle along with them 2,then you have 3-4 years of 5*DT talent,and a 3rd DT stud for 2 of those years..

I believe they would take Shy Tuttle as well.

That's a good theory. I think it's very possible Jones is already a Vol commit.

We have O. Williams as a Juco DT. Add DJ Jones and IMO it would be about time to get away from Juco DTs. With taking 8-9 DL kids in 2014, adding IMO 5 this class is plenty. 13-14 kids in 2 years is stocking it up quickly. Allow some of the HS kids to develop as Williams and Jones are getting a lot of the reps. Take 2-3 more DTs in 2016(class will be closer to 25) and we are fine. Get 2-3 a year and you can avoid the Juco guys with fewer years to play.

Settle personally. A lot of talent that could follow him.

Not sure of the nc talent that could follow tuttle

I don't know if anyone really has a preference. The measurables are so similar. They are rated .001 apart (.9872 for Settle and .9862 for Tuttle). Their names are even similar. Maybe they were separated at birth.
