So what exactly is your point? Since they're not going to make a difference next year we shouldn't go after them? Everyone wishes Blair would've been the stud we thought he was going to be but he's not. They may not "make a difference" next year but if they're better than what we have now it is still an upgrade. Of course any freshman starting on the O-line is going to struggle, no matter how talented they are, but the experience will be huge in terms of their development and by the time they're juniors and seniors they should be very good players for us. We pretty much have no choice but to start a bunch of freshman and sophmores on the o-line, unless we can find some jucos, and with that being the case I want them to be the most talented ones we can get.
Yep. And Juan James never struggled like our freshmen are, so I don't buy it. If they have more talent and size....plus have the benefit of being an EE, why wouldn't they have a great chance to start (not all of them but one or two just might)So what exactly is your point? I wish all the experts on VN would knock it off with all these dogmatic statements, like you KNOW something, even the coaches don't yet know.He is. Jack Jones will be at OT, possibly with Dylan Jackson as well. Stewart is guard all the way. He will be a monster.

Zach Stewart is listed as a Guard and Tackle. It's up to the STAFF to decide that once he gets here. Not the damn beat writers or the know-it-alls here, like yourself, who think their opinion is fact.
Stewart fits the OT mold much better than an OG, but we will only know when he arrives on campus and is practicing. They didn't know where Coleman Thomas was going to play. Kerbyson was supposed to be the OG at the start of the season.

I think they're planning on red shirting Blair. There are other offensive lineman over there that couldn't be much of a drop off. What has happened to Pair and Sanders? At least they have some age on them. I'd really like to hear thatsmyboy's take on things.
I have really been curious where Austin has been. I watch the OL struggles and tell myself is it actually possible that we don't have OL kids on the bench who would at least not whiff on blocks? Can they at least get in the way of the DE coming off the edge?
As for Blair that just seems to be our luck. Had he went to any other SEC team as a top rated Juco he would probably be starting and looking like the OT he was when all the school were recruiting him. No, he commits to UT and can't sniff the field because he looks like a walk-on.
I keep thinking Butch has some master plan that one day we'll think "oh, I see why he did that" but now I keep thinking his master plan is playing all these kids so he can tell the recruits "see you can play as a freshman here".
I would still love to get thatsmyboys take on Mahoney and what's going on with that OLine. He may not want to share and that's completely understandable. Has he been around lately?
