'15 VA OL Matthew Burrell

Poster on 247 saw a bucket-hat-wearing Burrell last night with KM and Pat Allen...

Bucket Hat FTW.

If this dude wants to start as a freshman, he needs to sign with us

I would get every coach on staff with the two offensive lineman we have visiting this weekend and focus ALL recruiting efforts on them. Our OL needs upgraded desperately.

Any Frosh lineman starting next year is not going to make a difference. What we needed was for Blair to be te stud everybody thought. That would have let Kerbyson displace one of these Frosh and let them redshirt. That would have vastly changed this season. I don't know what he hell to do with Mack Crowder.

Until they move Blair to RT he won't play. I said way before he got here he wouldn't make it as a LT. I got flamed for it, but I still hold ground toward my opinion. Anyone who's read the Blair thread is probably tired of me saying this over and over and over again.

Weisman. He's bigger and was from the 2013 class. Should be the starting C or RG.

I hope we put Blair in at LT and Weisman at C for the UTC game.

Things aren't going to change for the Chattanooga game. "It'll be a good chance for the OL to mesh"

Oh yeah. Cause today proved we want to start freshmen on the oline.
We have largely whiffed at OL recruiting the past 2 yrs and are reaping the consequences this season.

Got to load up on quality Offensive Linemen in this class. At least to push the current OL. I think Zach Stewart could win the LT spot, as an EE. Jack Jones, might challenge Kerbyson for the RT spot. Burrell could challenge for a OG spot.

Three more FrOsh starting? No Stewart is a guard and Burrell is a Tackle anyway. I only see Jack Jones as anyone vying for a starting spot next year but I hope an upper class man like Austin Sanders steps up.
If Dools had signed one damn lineman in '12 we have another Junior...

I understand we don't WANT to have to start Freshmen, but as woeful as this one is, we may not have a choice. Quality >>> Experience.

The OL for TCU is handling dey business against OU. Playing some behemoths that would have helped us win at least 2 of the past 3 games.

Stewart is not simply a guard. He's built like a big OT already. Tall. Lean. 320lbs. Watch at the 2min mark:

I just am certain all of our beat writers are under the impression ZS was a guard.

So what exactly is your point? Since they're not going to make a difference next year we shouldn't go after them? Everyone wishes Blair would've been the stud we thought he was going to be but he's not. They may not "make a difference" next year but if they're better than what we have now it is still an upgrade. Of course any freshman starting on the O-line is going to struggle, no matter how talented they are, but the experience will be huge in terms of their development and by the time they're juniors and seniors they should be very good players for us. We pretty much have no choice but to start a bunch of freshman and sophmores on the o-line, unless we can find some jucos, and with that being the case I want them to be the most talented ones we can get.
