'15 VA OT Austin Clark

im not real sure how many are actually on scholarship. but i do agree that we lose 3-5 or so and nothing crazy like 10. Maybe even 6 or 7. But I can see us taking 5 on the OL if we take around 22. We dont need the big number anywhere else.

No kicker
1 TE
1 Safety
5 DL
1 QBs
2 WR
1 RB
3 LB
2 CB
5 OL
1 QB/WR/CB/RB

With Worley graduating and for arguement sake say Peterman transfers out if he doesn't win the job in the spring. Leaving only 2 scholly QB's do you think we sign 2 QB's this class? Maybe a highly rated guy like Gentry and a guy like Williams or just ride with adding one QB? Curious to see how this spring plays out and if say Fergy wins the job does maybe Peterman or Dobb's, although I'm not sure Dobbs would with the degree he his pursuing , but if one leaves plus Worley that leaves us very thin going into spring of 2015. I definitely could see them going after atleast one EE and if not 2 then maybe another one in the summer.

Hmm, no commitment on the visit. Maybe the staff is telling him to hold off till they see if they get Richmond and OL recruiting is done at only (3).

"Let The Debate"!

Just can't see them turning Clarke down unless they have 5 guys they like better that all elect to be Vols. Jmo but definitely seems like an OLine guy you make room for and not put on hold.

Why would they only take 3 OL?

Only reason I could see it happening is because of the numbers/class size for the 2015 class. If the class does end up being 17-18, taking 6 OL guys as some suggest just does not work out. If 3 months from now there have been 3-4 kids already choose to leave UT, then maybe I buy into the thinking that a class of 20 is possible.

Yeah, I think we take 2. I think that last spot goes to a QB. I was just putting up numbers for if we took 22. Not really the numbers I would personally take. I think we could get by only taking 3 or 4 Dlinemen, but I know a lot of people disagree, even though we have a lot now.

I don't think they like 5 guys on the OL better than Clark. With the current class size of a dozen or so currently, taking 5 guys on the OL at this point is not in the cards IMO.

We won't take 6 but we won't limit ourselves to 3 either.

I gotcha. Guess a lot depends on who transfers out and what position they play. I would have no complaint if 8-10 left that have never contributed or ones the Coach's feel will never contribute and replzce them with guys they personally like and are recruiting. I wouldn't even have a clue of names to throw out there either. Could see maybe a Peterman, maybe Hill if he gets passed by the FR and Pickett. Maybe a secondary player or 2 if they get passed over by FR coming in. Possibly a WR, just throwing out like maybe Bowles if he starts getting more buried on the depth chart. Guess it wil become a little more clear after Spring Practice and some guys start establishing themselves and others fall further down the depth chart.

Richmond isn't on board.

IMO that is who they would wait for.

Maybe Clark is on hold till either Richmond does something or current roster space is made available to add another OL to the 2015 class. Risky to add kids with nowhere to put them scholarship wise.

We get it...you are worried about the numbers.

Or maybe it's February and Clark isn't ready to commit.

Ok what I'm getting from the nodding and winking between the two of you is that Clark has a committable offer right now no matter what Richmond does. Is this correct?

Clark already has been to Tennessee for a handful of visits, and he said he enjoyed his latest look at the Vols. He has yet to identify any early favorites, but he said UT is one of five teams that are recruiting him hardest, along with Clemson, Penn State, Virginia Tech and Virginia. Today was his mother's first time at Tennessee, and he said she was impressed, too. Clark said he'll definitely visit Tennessee again before long.

Remember that time 7 months ago when people were freaking out about how big of a class we could take and how Butch was undoubtedly going to screw it up somehow by taking too many WRs and not enough DL?

I do...
