'16 FL OT Marcus Tatum (UT commit 1/11/16)

Recruiting will be fine. Fla finished top5 after going 4-8.

As for the roster it has some holes but its not deleted as media and fans lead you to believe.

Mac.has done a wonderful job filling gaps this offseason imo.

I agree he has filled gaps but not with sec talent. Florida is as thin as I can ever remember. Not saying he cant recruit or wont be succesful just he may have a rough year or two coming up. I dont think that florida has a player on offense that is even close to top tier in the conference. Defense is another story but still not as deep and talented as the last few years.

Also, it's worth mentioning the Vols' push with Marcus Tatum. The Daytona Beach offensive lineman hasn't been quick to make a decision despite his recent attention. Getting him on campus later this month would be a big plus for Tennessee who have turned up the heat there.

The No. 1 OT in Florida to visit Vols next week

Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland offensive tackle Marcus Tatum has scheduled two SEC visits for next week, including with Tennessee. I'm hearing Florida and Tennessee are the two schools catching his full attention heading into the season.

Marcus Tatum recently trimmed his lengthy offer sheet to eight schools, but says he could go ahead and make a verbal commitment whenever he "feels it's right" as well. South Carolina and Tennessee will get a shot and are scheduled to play host to the rising senior on the 24th and 25th, respectively.
Tatum, 6-foot-6, 275 pounds, has yet to come forward and reveal a No. 1 school in his recruitment, but the University of Florida is one school that will be there until the very end next February. Jim McElwain and the Gators are looking to replenish their offensive front, and are hoping to keep Tatum in the Sunshine State for an additional 4-5 years.

The #1 OT in Florida is a 3 star and ranked 600+ in total ranking. Sounds like this is written by a Gator honk that knows this kid is committing there.

Down yr for OTs in Fla. Some pretty solid OG/C this cycle. Next yr is loaded at the position tho.

Tatum should announce for UF soon.

Not saying he's not good. I refuse to bad mouth a player that has far more God given ability than me. It does however read like a justification article for Florida fans.

Marcus Tatum from Daytona Beach, Fla., is headed up as well this weekend and Tennessee has made a very good impression on the big offensive tackle the last few months since offering. Florida is the team to beat at the moment, but a strong visit this weekend could go a long ways to helping the Vols sway Tatum.

Florida still leads, with Vols a close 2nd. He likes that he is right down the road from from Florida and he can go into Coach McIlwain's office anytime and talk to him. He loves Tennessee too! He really loves CBJ and staff. 190% sure he is going to Fl-TN game. He's working on setting up officials with Tennessee and Arkansas. Tatum says he wants a chance at early playing time, not a promise he will play early, just a chance to earn it.

On the offensive side of things, we continue to hear good things about where Tennessee stands with Marcus Tatum. While the Daytona Beach, Fla., standout is thought to be a Florida lean, Tennessee is closing ground. Look for an official visit to come later in the season from Tatum.

Look for Don Mahoney to swing by Mainland High School next Friday to see Tatum as well as a few others at the school.

Don Mahoney is expected to be in Orlando, Fla., at Dr. Phillips High School where Marcus Tatum and his Mainland H.S. team is playing. Tatum continues to be a Tennessee-Florida battle and the Vols are likely to receive an official visit down the line. Look for Tatum at the Tennessee-Florida game on Saturday.

Florida offensive lineman Marcus Tatum told our Florida site this morning that he will be officially visiting Tennessee the weekend of the South Carolina game. That is turning into a very important weekend.

Pat Bethel is expected in as well. Landon Dickerson will be here on an unofficial. I still think more names will be added.

Good lord that weekend could make our Oline a force in the trenches for years to come if all goes well. Dickerson and Tatum in the same weekend.

Daytona Beach, Fla., offensive lineman Marcus Tatum will be on his official visit to Knoxville as well for the South Carolina game. Florida remains the leader for Tatum but Tennessee has been a team that's caught his attention for a while now, ever since he was on campus for an Orange Carpet Day over the summer. The Vols landing Tatum would still be considered an upset at this point, but they will have the chance to impress him.
