This one bothers me. Kid is going to waste his talents at uga. No idea how they're selling him on the defensive side of the ball. And yeah I know they're saying he'll get on the field "some" on offense but that's just a line of bs. Uga doesn't properly use wrs playing exclusively on offense.

Shades of Marlon Brown riding the pine for most of his UGA career and making it in the NFL

composite 5* on 247 and #1 ranked ath in the country. Mecole + davis would be insane this year, can't let the dawgs pull either of these two, come on butch!

the latest adjustments were enough to move elberton (ga.) elbert county athlete mecole hardman jr. Into the five-star range at no. 27 overall. Hardman moved into the top 100 of the 247sports rankings following his performance at the opening finals last month.

“though he's listed as an athlete because of his ability to play defensive back, georgia native hardman is also a new addition to the top100,” 247sports director of scouting barton simmons said at the time of his 247sports rankings bump. “he is an explosive, dynamic athlete that is one of the best receivers in the country when he wants to be. He was also one of the top athletic testers at the combine in oregon.”

hardman, a u.s. Army all-american, has one official visit set up for michigan on nov. 28, and the home-state georgia bulldogs currently have the lead on his 247sports crystal ball over tennessee.

Has Hardman got many looks on defense at these camps he has been attending? I know he has looked great at WR, just wondering if he has been looked at on defense much?

Yes, he's done both. Worked mostly at CB in Charlotte during an Opening camp iirc. There is more money for a lock down CB in the NFL than for a WR.

That's not true or at least it wasn't as of a couple of years ago. WRs make more on average and the highest paid player was higher as well. CBs averaged about 1.7 million per year versus 1.8 for WRs. Calvin Johnson was the highest paid WR at 18.8 million versus the highest paid CB making 12 million. That of course was from two years ago.

DBs also average out to have shorter NFL careers than WRs if you're talking about 1978 (the year 16 game schedules were swapped to) to current. Generally the career of an elite NFL DB is around 8 years versus 10 years for an elite NFL WR. Life expectancy and less cases of earlier onset of dementia is also in the favor of WR over DB but that's really a controversial topic, kind of makes sense since DBs take more contact over their career.

send this to hardman......... UGA is too full at WR

Hopefully he realizes this. I doubt he would believe anything from a rival fan. Uga is a consistent presence in the top ten recruiting classes out of the teams that consistently finish in the top ten they are the program that underachieves the most. Almost every other program has won a national title or at least competeted for one. I know fans throw stuff back and forth at each other but what I'm stating isn't opinion but fact that anyone can look up on their own.

The problem with this argument is that a majority of the highest paid WR's are big and physical. Megatron, Bryant, D. Thomas, V. Jackson, Fitzgerald, and even Jordy Nelson. Julio Jones and AJ Green are about to get paid. Mike Wallace, Randall Cobb, Jeremy Maclin, Desean Jackson, and Antonio Brown are all shorter guys, but I am not sure a couple of those are worth their contract. But it is easier to make top dollar when you are bigger. Just being real even though that doesn't help us.

releasing top ten monday

mentions ala , aub , and miami specifically

Georgia Bulldogs Football, Basketball, and Recruiting Front Page

Q: So you are going to make an official announcement on Monday (about the top 10). So can you give me three that may be looking at you? Or 3 that you are interested in?
A: Alabama, Auburn, Miami
Q: What interests you about each of those 3 schools?
A: I have been on campus of all of them. The coaches, they have nice facilities all schools attract you with their facilities. But they have a nice and you can do a lot with it. It just is how you feel at that school when you get there, the feeling that you get, so there is really nothing to it.

Don't be real when it doesn't help us.
