'16 GA ATH Kyle Davis

A large part of that rushing stat is....Dobbs rushing...which he often HAS to, because the pocket broke down.

Most of his big runs have been designed plays with good blocking schemes. Hurd has also reeled off big runs as well. Remember, we couldn't run against Chattanooga last year.

I'm calling BS on that one. I know he got a TD by scrambling against Arky, but I can't remember about other runs like that this year (although I'm sure there were a few). He ran for 118 (or whatever it was) against UGA on QB power (mostly) and some zone read.

Wondering how long you spent trying to find the one or two people saying they didn't want him out of the myriads who do want him, just to prove a tired point that message board posters like to say "didn't want him anyway."

I just happened to read it. There are players that I don't want, too, but, since my opinion is uninformed, I keep it to myself. I am not trying to imply that anyone else should. I have seen it more on other boards. I am a member of Scout and their free board has a lot of morons. This board has its share, but I guess your question is a fair one. I read this thread a lot because I want Kyle Davis to come here. Simple as that.

At the end of the year, I would have to say it would be 2 coaches. Azzani and Mahoney. Both units have greatly under-performed.

Have not heard anything about Mahoney. Seems the word is most of his squad likes him and is happy with him. The only one I have heard is Azzani. We will see the difference in the wideouts today since Butch has assumed most of the WR duties.

Did Butch go public about taking on more responsibilities with Wr or just info you got?

Besides, you don't want a mass exodus of coaches. One guy being replaced isn't too bad of a transition. You start losing multiple guys and the transition is much more difficult. O-line hasn't been that bad this year compared to last year. As long as there is progression, there is no need for a change. And the guy you are responding to has a history of talking out of his backside anyways.

Do you know anything about the status of our WRs today, especially PW?

Why anyone thinks Mahoney needs to go is beyond me. Has developed Kerbyson, Robertson, Wiesman, and Kendrick. I believe Wiesman and Kendrick are a little limited talent-wise, so we say how prepared he had Hall and Jones. He's a good coach and is doing good things at UT.

C'mon...you love those reality warped trainwreck threads. :wink2:

No you dont need a mass exodus of coaches. Besides Mahoney is fine and is getting alot of respect on the recruiting trail as well. Kids are noticing more and more on the way he is developing the players he has. Multiple recruits are looking at what they do the rest of the season. If they continue to develope nicely we could wind up with some stud offensive lineman for the next few classes. Also need to hold off future teams from trying to lure him away.

Any word on getting a QB coach? I know DeBord has been helping Mahoney a lot. Have a lot of good QB's here and on the way..

Sheridan is handling that this year. Going to have to be machinations to keep him or go another way.

I understand where you are coming from I know info that is given is not always right but I have 2 boosters that are close to the program and have privilages to info regarding recruiting and coaches. Players are disgruntled about the lack of coaching and developing they are getting. If you are looking for names of players I for one would not release those in order to protect the players since both coaches and players read these message boards.
And I am not trying to be mean or rude but you can take it or leave it. But there is 2 posters on this board who from different sources said that their is almost a guarantee coaching change at the end of the season. If Eazy would like to release the names of players then that is his choice but I dont think he would either for the same reasons I have given you.

Well everyone who might have a relative on staff or as a player doesn't post everything they hear. Keep that in mind. I have not heard what you're saying. I've heard the opposite.

I think Mahoney is safe. Again he has been with Butch a long time. Since 1998 if I remember correctly.

Any chance that DeBord becomes the OL coach while remaining the OC too? Move Sheridan to QB coach and open up the WR coaching position?

I'm no insider, but I think CZA lands somewhere else after the season opening up the WR coach position. Really the only change that I think needs to be made.

PW has a hamstring injury and is going under further evaluation here. It was bad enough to put him on crutches. The rest of the WR are fine. Just excited to see how they do under CBJ.

Ouch. I think he'll benefit a ton for about 4 months off from football to rehab his legs. I still don't think he's right from that acl.

It was the same case last year. We're averaging 60 more yards rushing per game this year and are a pace to give up many, many fewer sacks. Last year we gave up 43 sacks in 13 games...right now through 7 games we've allowed only 16 going into the easiest 5 game stretch of the season.

I think it's clear that this OL is better this year....Kerbyson is much better at LT, Thomas much better at C, and now we have two freshmen more than holding their own on the right side. Is the line great? Of course not. But there's definite improvement.

The only question in my mind about whether or not Mahoney stays has to do with DeBord spending so much time with the OL....it's essentially a duplication of services if you will.
