He wasn't a lock to UGA before so why would he be now? Rocker was DL coach then too....does it help? Yeah probably but he is more open than UGA people want to believe. His parents being MSU alums helps keep things open minded to more than just the home school. Aub/TN/Bama are legitimate threats to those puppy homers

I feel like this guy is very important to this class. If we don't get him or another quality HS DT this cycle I don't think that would be good.

while it would be nice to land the kid, I don't view it as important as you. DT isn't a position of dire need ATM. next year we will have guys like tuttle, McKenzie, Obrien, and Vickers returning. then throw in JUCO alexis Johnson coming in and the depth is pretty good. then on passing downs a guy like Barnett can slide inside and give some reps. obviously, like I mentioned if we nab the kid that's great still

You ALWAYS NEED DTs. Ask Nick Saban

you can say that about any position then. and even if you feel that way about it, this kid isn't the only DT out there ya know? 1 kid isn't the be all end all of a class
That's why I mentioned "or another quality DT". We just don't need a cycle where we don't take a high school DT, like the year we didn't take any OL. It didn't affect us that year but it for sure did down the road. I'm not being chicken little, just hope we get one.

He's the highest ranked DT still showing us interest. We need him. DT may be good next year, but this isn't about next year. We have to keep up with the depth chart.

Almost every recruiting analyst and coach will tell you that DT are a different animal. There are not that many elite DT recruits to begin with and EVERYBODY needs them. They get beat to death in the trenches, so you have to have quality depth. Add to it that he is a 5 star and there are even fewer of those. He may not be the only DT out there, but he is the very best left that we have a legitimate shot at for a position that you take highly rated players at each and every year as many as you can get. Some will not work out, some will get hurt, and some may go to OL. He is not the end all be all, but getting him would be absolutely huge in many ways.

Coach Doug Mathews Agrees with you. :good!:

Adding Brown would help take a DL that is going to be pretty darn good, to being a stellar one. After KMac and Tuttle, there is a notable dropoff in talent. If Brown plays here, he'll have not only a great opportunity to get the same amount of playing time those two did, this season, but be part of the team that will likely win the SEC E

28/28 on 247 say hes going to be a Dawg. Am I missing something?

You're missing that 27 of those picks were before Richt was let go. I've never even heard of the 28th guy. We get the last visit and he had a lot of positive momentum even before Richt left. Those crystal ball predictions mean very little unless you see a bunch of them on the same day.
