Who is this guy? Bud Elliot of SB Nation actually says:

"The country's No. 4 overall prospect told SB Nation this spring that Georgia was his leader, and I am hard-pressed to even think of which team should be No. 2.

Brown going anywhere other than UGA would be a surprise, though Auburn is trying hard. Georgia seems on track to keep a large majority of the state's top prospects home."

Do not, I repeat, do not shoot the messenger.

Did the guy recently report that? Because if he did... Well, spring was about a year ago.

Somebody that doesn't follow recruiting very much (and probably a Georgia fan) and who is just looking at 247 CB's... And Georgia is on track to keep a large majority of top prospects at home? What about what they have already lost? Kyle Davis and they have no shot at Nigel Warrior and I don't think they have much hope for Brown either. The guy probably doesn't even know about the OV this weekend.

True... Why is it we always lose in recruiting battles to Auburn lol? Hopefully Shoop closes the deal

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

........only because they have a looooooong history of such antics.......

.......why would we believe they are just the better option? They aren't! Plus the staff is near the hot seat....lots of turmoil down there.............

Yes, it is recent. He was just going back in time to show he actually talked to the kid -- once -- last spring.

Well then I would say, "There's your sign".

Don't even take what the guy said with a grain of salt, just completely ignore it as he has approximately zero clue what he is talking about.

My 2 cents for those who don't get why he would select aub over ut...He is staring at 2 STUD sophomore DTs in front of him. I know he'll rotate. I know real players aren't worried about competition. That said, it's not like KM and Shy are seniors soon departing. Path of least resistance might just be somewhere else.

My UGA coworker sent me that yesterday.. we have a 100 dollar bet on where he goes. I don't have a great feeling, but last visit anything could happen.

Auburn also has quite a few stud DT's as well. His decision will have nothing to do with the depth chart.

I agree I mean what the hell is a Auburn.I can understand a UT or UA or UGA but really what is a Auburn. To me it's a school in a cow field surrounded by trailor parks and the inbreds that live in them.I just don't understand the allure to the place at all.I mean unless you like smoking synthetic marajuana or getting paid large sums of cash to play.I just don't get it at all.

I've taken a couple UOVers to Auburn. They do a great job of selling the family atmosphere and the small-town feel of the city of Auburn. They've got nice facilities. The campus is pretty. The Under Armour stuff they've got is great. They sell their program really well.

Would I go there? No. I'd pick Tennessee. But I can see how an impressionable young man would choose to go there. No insinuations of pay-for-play or anything.

Last spring Brown was posting a lot of pics of himself in Georgia attire on social media. I remember because our Georgia friends would always bring them to either this thread or the tweets thread. Clearly, his recruitment has changed since then and so has Georgia. Since last spring they had another disappointing season, were blown out by Alabama and Florida and also lost to Tennessee and fired their coach. Yeah, things can change in 8 months... and they have. He's not going to Georgia.

+1. Especially considering the fact that Shoop is who Auburn REALLY wanted as their DC....and he wouldn't even take their call. I'm sure he will share why he wouldn't with Mr. Brown and his family.

Auburn had to settle for Steele, IIRC. The same Steele whose defense got utterly humiliated to the tune of 70pts by WVU a handful of years ago.

Brown also posted quite a few pics in Georgia attire a few days ago on his visit. I would expect his twitter to explode with UT pics while he is there this weekend. If that is case, I like our chances. Hopefully someone paints the rock with each person in town on official visits, I could see something like that really swaying a recruit.

I'm confident in this staff being able to pull this one off with final visit. Shoop over Steele is a no brainer. More guareenteed stability at TN right now. Ready for title run his freshman yr

I don't count any pics posted while on a visit as meaning anything because the players really don't have much choice but to take them... and I would say that about the upcoming Tennessee visit pics as well. I'm sure the rock will be painted with his and Warrior's likenesses and his pic will be taken standing in front of it but that also means nothing.

Based on everything I've read, I think it's 60/40 Auburn right now... but this weekend is huge. You never know.

Auburn leads but not by much. If brown is comfortable with Shoop, Tennessee will land him IMO. Auburn better hope they can somehow get him not to make this visit.

If brown looks around the room this weekend at the heat that could all be coming to UT in this class, how could he not get excited.
Just the visitors this weekend represent a stout defense. Pair that with the fact that we got the defensive coordinator that auburn really wanted.... Get the big boy an orange pen to sign with.
Butch needs to sell those two points hard!

They only open the briefcase on official visits. Nah, I'm playing, I think the Auburn pay-for-play is a tad overblown. Not every recruit they pull is because of the money.

I just rec'd a text from a buddy of mine eating lunch at Marlowes Tavern at the Mall of GA (Buford, GA). This is where Derrick Brown lives. Go get em' Butch!! Brick by Brick!

BTW...I'm trying to talk him into sending me a pic...so in b4 pic or it didn't happen. Also, trying to get my friend (a UGA fan) to go up to Butch and say "Brick by Brick...GBO" So far he's not too receptive...
