Four-star OL Brodarious Hamm finds 'home' with Tennessee Vols

Free read

Quote:
While many schools have discussed playing Hamm at either tackle or guard, he said Tennessee only has expressed interest in using him as a tackle. But he said he’s willing to “play any position they put me at.”

“They want me at tackle,” he said. “And they were (saying), if I get up here and work hard, I probably could earn some (playing) time.”

Nice civil response, Brodarious.

I would be interested in hearing why you disagree though. Not in a hostile way (you've made sure we don't end up on that road!), but out of curiously.

Can I help out with that? It's never recruiting over somebody unless they are a clear bust or constantly injured. Especially in the O-line since it takes longer to develop the strength, technique and chemistry with the unit. Posters on here were saying last year the staff was recruiting over Kendrick with Blair. No. they were trying to build the roster in case of injury at the position because they and now all of us knew Blair was not ready. Many on here were saying in February that Richmond would play in front of Blair. No. Blair has been in the system, is not clearly a bust since he is in the 2 deep and Richmond has not yet even reported. Jones will actually be ahead of him because he is an EE. Richmond may never play LT, he will have to prove he can. Same with Hamm over Sanders. That is highly unlikely to happen and the coaches have already indicated Sanders has taken a major step forward. He will play a lot and is the clear favorite to take over for Jackson after this next season if not before. Hamm will do what Sanders, Kendrick, Blair, Jones, Thomas, Hall, etc. have done until his number is called. Robertson got his shot early because Wiesman was injured to start the season while also working behind Crowder.

It will all be on Brodarius as to when that happens. But he is not being brought in to immediately be over anybody already in the two deep because there are no busts or chronic injury issues.

The idea that someone doesn't "believe" in recruiting over someone is comical at best. Ask Nathan Peterman if he believes in it. If he were a "bust," Pitt wouldn't have put him on a scholarship to transfer.

Guess Butch doesn't think much of Sheriron Jones, Quentin Dormady, Jauan Jennings and Josh Dobbs since he busted his tail to get a pledge from Guarantano.

That's simply my point. It's the coaches job to sign elite talent. The rest is up to the player, in part.
