'16 GA WR/DB Marquez Callaway (UT commit 1/21/2016)

Why have you been vehemently defending Ole Miss lately?

Didn't realize I was? I had a post a week or so ago degrading sorority girls at OM saying they are putting in work on these athletes. That's probably the opposite of defending them.

This post was more of, this is the first time I've heard OM referred to as trailer trash it's normally the opposite. As I stated.

Anyone know when he plans to announce his commitment? Is he another NSD announcement?

Edit: May have answered my question. He still has two OVs so it probably is NSD.

"New Full story coming post Inside the Fort:

highlights:

hosted by Cam Sutton. Hung out alot with the players which is what he wanted to get a feel for what it would be like to be a player at Tennessee. Said the visit was better than he expected it to be because of all the time he got to visit with current players. Miss. State and Ole Miss are the next two visits. Likely decision not till signing day.

Said Clemson called him last week.

Butch Jones going in the house not this week but next week as it stands right now."

Like him a lot better than the other WR recruits. Assuming that's his position.

Why'd Cam host? CB? Maybe they're from the same area.

Having Cam host is a great idea. He can talk about his experience at UT. Cam is from GA like Callaway. Cam can talk about why he has decided to return to UT and pass on the draft.

I'm guessing they're waiting to let jumper host a more high profile recruit. Possibly Dickerson. Do you really want to block this little red headed walk on Landon? I suggest you come to Tennessee

He played DB at army game and did really well in practice. OV has mentioned before he loved him as a DB. I wouldn't be suprised if that's his future instead of WR

“It was good,” Callaway said. “The other time I was just there for the game, I didn't get a chance to talk to players. On this visit, I was able to hang out with the players. My relationship with my future teammates is everything to me. I can't go some where that I don't get along with the players.

“Cam Sutton was my host. I was with him and a lot of players. I hung out some with Preston (Williams). Cam took me to see different players. We went to a linebackers room, a receivers room, I just got to visit with a lot of different guys.”

“Some said why they went to Tennessee,” Callaway offered. “I was just hanging out with them. They told me some things about the school. They asked me what other schools I was visiting. They really didn't pressure me. We just all hung out and talked.”

“The visit was what I thought it would be and more,” Callaway said. “All I wanted was to see what the players' lifestyle was like on the field, off the field, in the classroom."

“Coach Jones is coming next week, him and Coach Azzanni,” said Callaway.

Every school playing big time sports has a network of boosters in place across the country to "assist" in gaining kids signatures. Don't be naive thinking it just happens at certain schools.

Some "assist" more than others, a lot more. I personally think the NCAA should allow some community appreciation and support for the players and their families. It's the straight up corruption, the buying and selling which they should stop, but they don't, because NCAA wants the money flowing, too. So they make a big show of enforcing the picky and petty regs which should not even be on the books.

Callaway said the official visit made the Vols look more favorable in his eyes. However, he wasn’t ready to name Tennessee as his leader.

“I can’t say that because that was only my first official,” Callaway said.

Callaway will take official visits to Mississippi State and Ole Miss on Jan. 22 and Jan. 29, respectively. He said he’d like to take other official visits but isn’t sure he’ll have time before National Signing Day on Feb. 3, when he’d like to announce his decision.

“I’m going to try to, but if not, it’s just going to be those two,” he said.

Miami is a viable candidate for another official visit if Callaway can find time.
