'16 JUCO CB Desmond Henderson (UT commit 9/17/15)

Hurd was beating Florida to the corner Saturday. He doesn't get near the level of blocking any other top tier back gets. I think Fournette is the best in the country but Chubb will have his test tomorrow. Hurd has run for 100+ versus Oklahoma and Florida. Chubb hasn't run over anyone worth anything this year. Also head to head Hurd out produced Chubb last year.

Hurd is a beast. Makes his own holes.:)

I agree with d1 here. Leo is very fast. Much faster than Chubb/Hurd who are fast, but not elite NFL fast. Leo should run under a 4.45, maybe under a 4.4 approaching a 4.3.

Much faster than Chubb??? There was literally .01 seconds difference in their state championship 100m times. Not sure that equates to much faster.

Your last statement is pretty unfair to Chubb, who played behind Gurley in that game. Hurd got more than twice as many carries as a result of being the unquestioned starter.

And, while we're discussing fair, Chubb has run for 100+ in 12 straight games since becoming the starter. It isn't his fault that UGA hasn't played a tough schedule 4 games in, but last season, he did serious damage to some elite run defenses. Fournette is elite too, but he hasn't exactly faced a murderer's row of defenses either. AU is 108th nationally in rushing yds allowed, and MSU is 80th.

Chubb had 10 carries for 32 yards. He's so great why didn't he break one of those 10 carries behind that super O-line he has?

He'll fumble probably twice this Saturday too. He's good but he doesn't just look special as a runner.

If we're trading in the "fair" business, you have to bring up all factors. Posters who are intimating that Hurd isn't in the same conversation as Chubb and Fournette aren't delving into the "all things being equal" aspect. It's not Hurd's fault that his line is inferior to both GA and LSU's. I personally believe he's third on that talent meter also, but not by much and like the others, he can be a reason why a NFL team is hoisting the Lombardi someday.

I'm not hyping Chubb in an effort to disparage Hurd though, so it wasn't entirely necessary to laud his many accomplishments. I agree that Hurd is a top-shelf talent, but to compare the one "head-to-head" matchup between he and Chubb (which isn't even fair given the gross difference in number of carries) as some sort of proof of anything is silly.

Fournette is just a freak. He's just on a different level.

That next tier is Chubb, Hurd, and Henry.

10 carries is hardly enough to get into a rhythm over an entire game. What if he broke an 80 yarder on his 11th carry? He didn't get 24 cracks at it like Hurd did. Comparing a starter who got 24 carries to a backup who got 10 is stupid, and not even worth discussing.

Chubb's flirting with Hershel Walker records that are 30+ years old. Think of all the NFL-caliber backs that have come thru UGA that can't say that. He almost broke Walker's freshman rushing record last year despite only starting 8 games, and getting only 9 carries in one of those starts. You sure are tough to impress if you don't think that's special.

As for fumbling twice this Saturday, that would be surprising given that he has only lost 2 fumbles in 311 career touches, but I guess anything is possible.

Since they still both run track and that wasn't timed well over a year ago.

I like your logic filled posts most of the time, this is not one of those instances. Watch a long Leo run and then watch a long Chubb run.

Maybe it's the pads. Idk

It seems like you took exception to my post. I wasn't trying to sound snarky.

Could be the pads, but I think it is the use of the phrase "much faster" that I took exception with. To me, Jalen Hurd is "much faster" than Coleman Thomas. The difference between Fournette and Chubb is negligible, IMO. The only tangible side by side comparison is a timed run for each, which were almost identical. Ideally, a timed run in pads in a game atmosphere under identical circumstances would be best, but we'll never get that, so we're just left to our own opinions. One thing I think we can agree on is that both are fast.

Chubb is looking very average against a good defense. Hurd for some reason looks good against good defenses. One is the real deal though and the other not so much.

That's because his line is usually blowing open huge holes. Hurd is the better back. He's just been playing behind a terrible line.

Please explain how he functioned in this type game multiple times last season then. Missouri, Florida, Auburn, and Louisville defenses are all dying to hear what exactly they missed.

Auburn and Louisville are trash versus the run. Florida game when they started hitting him he started to fumble. This game with no blocking he's looked AVERAGE. He's no where near Gurley/Fournette. Just a good RB with a line that kills for him. He hasn't looked special on any run today. Michel looked better to tell the truth.

The Louisville defense that finished #10 nationally in rushing defense? Interesting.

You're reaching BB, and your agenda is clear.
