I think Cam wants a National championship, something the NFL can't offer him. I'd put my money on him returning and going all the way with this team. All the way.

Good. Sadly, I've heard enough dumb come out of this board in the last week that I'm not surprised by anything I read. Were /bf not in force, I would have just treated this as a teaching moment about who Bob Welton is.

He could come back but if he grads out high as everyone thinks and is high on the draft board then he might as well go to the NFL and get paid.

I hope folks realize having guys leave early for the draft is good for the program long term. Recruits want to be 3 n out guys. And the more guys we have leave early and get drafted high, the more elite recruits we'll attract.

How else do you think Nick Saban is able to stack 4 straight #1 recruiting classes on one another. He's selling all these kids on being 3 n out guys. And he's got the evidence to back it up.

That's why I predict 2017 will be a down year. Maybe 9-3 after we win 10-11 games the next two years.

However the 2017 recruiting cycle might be the best ever for Butch Jones, so we should back contending in 2018.

I think you and a lot of others are underestimating what CBJ is doing here. He's building a winning culture, but he is also really pushing academics and the importance of a degree. These players especially are the ones that will known as the enforcers that brought Tennessee back and they won't leave until it's done. Another thing to consider is players don't leave early a lot in college football.

Yeah I live in the real world. Where if I mentor a kid I'd tell him to go get paid while your stock is high. As soon as they get hurt the teams try to cut their value in half.

Also where do elite players not leave early? Show me this trend......

Players with 1st round grades leave 99% of the time. And for good reason. You can always go back and get your degree. However you won't always have the opportunity to be an instant millionaire.

Folks need to stop worrying about guys leaving early. It's GREAT for the program. It will make us even more competitive in recruiting because early admission to the NFL is still the #1 dream of every high school recruit.

It'll be a great sign for our program if 4-5 guys are considering leaving early after 2016.

We could lose Barnett, Hurd, Kamara, Malone, Wolf, Martin, Moseley, and TK after 2016. All have 1st-2nd round talent. Also Dobbs, North, and JRM would be graduating.

2017 could be a rebuilding year if the team is wildly successful in 2016 and all those guys leave.

Probably not. But there is a chance. Almost all the guys I mentioned would be 3 year starters. If we win the SEC title and make the playoff, their stock would skyrocket like Ohio State guys this year.

I think Barnett and Hurd are definites when it comes to leaving early. Both would probably go in the first round next year if they were eligible.

Malone needs to stop dropping/almost dropping 50% of the passes going his way before anyone should talk about him leaving for the NFL early...

Come on man. I love UT Football, but I think you left these on when you were typing. No WAY all of those guys leave early.

Last year, the schools with the most players declare early for the draft were- Florida (4), USC (4), Bama (3), LSU (3), and Penn State (3). No other school had more than 2.
