Leverage, too. Hard to get low and drive people when you're 6'8". Dan Skipper is pretty much the only guy I can think of who is successful at that size.

He is athletic mauler but does give up leverage quite a bit.

but tennessee gave bonner his first major-conference offer, and with bonner having at least one natural tie to the vols — ut sophomore cornerback justin martin was his teammate last year at northeastern oklahoma a&m — sources said they appear to be in the driver’s seat to land him at this point, although the list of schools pursuing him still is growing.

he has racked up eight sacks through neo’s first eight games this season — sources said he has moved toward the top of tennessee’s defensive-end board.

As we reported late last week, junior college defensive lineman Jordan Bonner picked up an offer and will likely take an official visit to Tennessee at the end of the season.

Both Bonner and Kongbo are both redshirt freshmen and would have three years to play three.

There could be other defensive line offers from the junior college ranks as the season progresses.

The fact that he has three years left is huge, frankly if he were a JR next year you worry about how much weight he could add in a short time. He's already redshirted, but if he could add 15 lbs. that would put him at 245. He has very good speed but at only 230 the better OTs would handle him.

Through 9 games this season Bonner has 37 tackles, including 7 sacks & 3 TFL. He's really come on of late with 25 tackles (4.5 sacks) in the past 4 games.

I'm not worried about his ranking. I trust our coaches evaluation. He is a physical freak and has put up good numbers.

As for Bonner, the defensive end out of Northeast Oklahoma Community College continues to a top defensive line target for the Vols but others may be joining the race soon as Nebraska, Texas Tech and others have been checking on him recently.

Tennessee's trio of junior college commitments could visit the first two home games of the month, but the likely landing spot is for the Vanderbilt game.
