You think any of the JUCO's commit this weekend?

I think I'd watch both Bonner and Kongbo, probably mores Bonner. I think both are possibilities. I don't have concrete info that either will, but from talking to both I wouldn't rule it out. I think Kongo is more likely to take all of his visits, though.

bonner moves well enough you could stand him up and he could prob play OLB too. He also has a Randy Gregory frame physically. He'll have to add some more weight though but he has speed.

I think of Chris Weatherd when I look at this kid's thread. Not sure why Chris never materialized here, but hopefully if we land this kid he will.

"I know they have turned around the program," Bonner said. "They have been really productive lately. They run the kind of defense I like and they have a guy that comes off the edge. Now, I just want to get up there and check it out and see how everything is ran. It will be a place I really consider going to."

I'm not sure yet," Bonner said of when his next visit will be. "Tennessee is the only visit I have planned right now. But, as far as the other schools, I haven't a made a decision if I will go out there or not. I may go in December or in January."

Disappointed with the coaches use of him. Dude shouldn't leave the field much. He can do anything you ask too. Our coaches really confuse me with some of their personnel decisions at times.

Nickel is a bad package for the hybrid OLB/END types. Nickel is basically the base defense for UT.

Weatherd isn't a better LB than Maybin or Kirkland. So where would you put him other than a specialist role? You can't put him at end and expect him to be any kind of run support. And he isn't better than the other two LB's.

I'm afraid Taylor is going to fall victim to the same fate. Kid might be a star in another scheme...

Weatherd is a good speed rusher and can close on guys well, but you're right. We can't use him at WLB or MLB and if we kept a 225 lb DE on the field for a majority of the game, teams would just run straight at him until he got beat to a pulp.

If we wanted him on the field more, we'd have to use a lot more of that 3-3 look we often see him in. And using too much of that formation makes things easier on oppoising offenses, IMO.

Earlier in the year he could've played ahead of Kirkland if Jumper was playing there. That's my problem with them. You find a spot for Jumper and Bynum but Weatherd doesn't have a role. I think Taylor at DE will be hard to beat out. He'll have a much better chance to grow past the hybrid role. Word is he's 245lbs right now.
