I agree odds are not in our favor, but when a talent like Knott reaches out to you, you don't say "No thanks." Coaches are going to do their due diligence. If it doesn't pan out, nothing lost. But if he wanted to come to UT? That would be a pretty significant addition.
We should be cautious, but it's intriguing.
If you guys remember, his mother and Aunt were really comfortable with our coaches and Knoxville, early in the process they wanted him at UT. It was Nigel that just wasn't feeling it. He really loved FSU, USC and Bama. Maybe something has changed with him, we had his family in our corner at one time, so it's worth looking into.
The "don't even bother" attitude is moronic.
The thing I would be concerned with is Knott coming on the 29th and recruiting for another school. Seems fishy for him to have this sudden interest in UT this late in the process. The 29th should be reserved for the players legitimately interested in playing for the Vols.
Yes. Do we really trust him here with other players that Bama is after?
So is Butch suddenly a dumbass? I'd think he could get a good feel on where the young man's head is at, and not let him poison the well. Butch hasn't suddenly forgotten how all this works. Posters need to sit back and let this one play out.
Well apparently he didn't with Trey Johnson when he made a 'surprise' last second visit the same weekend Von Bell was in town. It's happened before. So to act like it hasn't would be foolish IMO. Those who forget history tend to repeat it.

Von Bell was never coming to UT, forget Trey Johnson, he played the UT staff on his own.
Earlier this week there were some rumblings about Nigel Knott and his sudden re-interest in Tennessee after not visiting or really speaking to Tennessee coaches since this past summer.
Knott and Willie Martinez did communicate this week after Knott reached out. Knott was hoping to set up a visit but that looks unlikely with an Alabama official visit this weekend and a likely official visit to another finalist next weekend. It can't be ruled out, but as of now there's nothing scheduled.
From what we've been told, Knott let Alabama know he was a heavy lean when Kirby Smart and Mel Tucker were on staff. But, there is some who wonder if that's still the case with both gone now.
