'16 NC OG Landon Dickerson

With all the talk of how bad our OL has been and is the #1 weakness going into this fall I'm a little surprised some folks don't want him to transfer to UT. Maybe it works out, maybe it doesn't but he's a guy that's been in a power 5 S&C program for a few years now and if healthy could start or at the very least provide much needed depth in Knoxville. BRING HIM ON!

Would still need some finality with Harris before we could even accept anyone else. We'd seem like an unlikely landing spot for him if his mind is already made up.

That's the issue though. Either he's never healthy or he got benched every year on a worse ol than ours. Neither inspire confidence that he would actually be an upgrade over what we have. I'm not really against it but I'm not for it. And I still don't like borrowing next year's spots like everyone else seems to.

That would be 1 less thing for them to complain about. The LOM can not have that....complaining is what keeps them happy.

Yeah it’s a hard thing to evaluate from where we stand. I mean, I can’t say I’ve watched hardly any FSU games but from all I’ve read - like you said - he’s been either injured or playing poorly. Someone said Miami defenders mauled him all game last year.

He was a blue chip, and it is a position of need. And FSU has been a dumpster fire. Maybe a change of scenery would do him well. But truthfully it kind of sounds like Drew Richmond with durability concerns.

Simply going to be a case of, if the staff takes him, we trust and evaluate what happens.

Don’t know if you can compare him to Richmond. When healthy he was FSU best OL. He ended up starting as a true freshman for FSU for Jimbo. In his FSU bio it says he was the 1st true freshman to start a home opener since 1982.

Well that’s what I’m saying - I don’t pay much attention to FSU football but based on what I’ve heard/read, he’s been inconsistent to bad when healthy, but often times injured.

If that isn’t true, then I stand corrected.

In the interest of full disclosure, most of the opinions on him came from FSU fans on twitter in threads discussing his re-entry into the portal. A Florida fan tweeted to him “come to UF” and a number of FSU fans chimes in basically with “I hope he does”

If you’re not worried about your rival getting him, then they must not be too high on his ability.

Unless it’s not genuine...and they’re making wine.

Of course.

C'mon guys. I've never heard so much whining about our O-line is the last couple of years. Now there's a chance to have a highly talented, though much injured, guy that can clearly help if he chooses us. This is not Locklear, Tatum or Lane, this is a guy that when healthy has proven he can dominate. If he wants to come you make room and you play him.

If healthy? Which he has never been.

If we take him we'd need to drop someone in the 85 by fall and borrow a spot in next classes 25 (or 24 or 23 or whatever we're gonna be down to by then) to take a chance that he would actually be healthy for the first time in his career. His career path is similar to dkjr but maybe even less healthy. These are valid concerns that some of you guys choose not to acknowledge when going on about how dumb some of us are about not wanting to get him.

He didn’t get benched. He was hurt.

I said either hurt or benched. Last year they seemed to just shut him down. So either he got benched or he's got serious leg issues like dkjr or Coleman Thomas. Either way it's a bit risky.
