'16 NC OG Landon Dickerson

Literally everything makes sense as you say. It appears to be a perfect marriage.

But I can't get past the fact he's routinely named us a leader only fall out of favor and fade for a little bit.

It's like he likes us for logical reasons but emotionally or in his heart he's just not sold.

Or he could be just enjoying the drama up till NSD. I don't think anyone knows for sure where he'll land.

In the Bama side of 247, he gushed about Saban's in-home visit. Then he said jimbo's was good. But that could be Bama reporting

Difference is...those guys had to play as freshmen. Best case scenario for any team is to NOT have to start a freshmen. Especially on the O-ine. Unless he is just hands down, flat out, game changing better than those guys, it is much more beneficial to the team to RS him and give him a year in the S&C program. Also saves a year of game time wear and tear on a big guy.

He's more physically ready than most freshmen. I'm not saying he plays right away but he's one of those rare kids that is just strong as hell. Jashon Robertson was kind of forced into starting early but he was just strong as a damn ox when he stepped on campus. This is another rare case where physically the kid is ready to compete.

Oh I agree that he is more ready as a freshman. What I'm saying is that the others "should", after a full season head start be able to play well and save us from having to use Dickerson (or any other freshmen linemen) this year. All of those young men also have game time experience....which is huge.

I agree, but sometimes the freshman comes in with the size, talent and mental capacity to handle the rigors of SEC play. Plus, it's not like the whole line is full of upperclassmen. In our case, at RG, I don't think anything is settled. Jack Jones just wasn't big enough yet and needed some time in the S&C program....maybe 2 full years.

Weisman's ceiling is probably an average SEC OG and no more. I still think he looks lost a lot of times, when pulling. In contrast, when you see Coleman Thomas pulling, he's determined to plant some defender's backside into the turf.

I think Mosley should be the RG, hands down. He has extremely rare size and it is mostly good weight...but who knows why he hasn't yet cracked the starting lineup? Maybe his conditioning isn't where it needs to be. That leaves Boulware, as his main competition, IMHO. He's also talented, and big enough to challenge Hall at RT.

He'll have to challenge Richmond because Hall is the starting LT next year. Book it.

Hall did an admirable job, but I don't see his playing RT = better than Richmond. I suspect they want Hall to get as much time at the spot they intended for him to play, knowing Richmond would be the LT this year. If you know Hall is a RT, then you let him get all the time he can, there. Nothing is set in stone, but Hall has a lot of growing to do as well.

I don't know about that. Hall performed admirably as a true freshman, but if you have someone like Dickerson on the roster, you give him a solid look, there. He's already bigger than Hall, so he has that to his advantage. Kid is already physically ready for the SEC. Not many freshmen are....just ask Jack Jones.

He's more talented than Weisman, who doesn't seem to do well when pulling. Many times I've seen Weisman look lost, like he doesn't know who to block. So, I bet Debord will try every way he can to get Dickerson into the starting lineup. If Robertson and Hall can play as true freshmen, there is no reason to expect any less of Dickerson.

I really feel sorry for Wiseman. He only made 2nd team all SEC and picked higher than any of out other OL for 2016.

not sure why people are saying Dickerson is bigger than Hall. UT lists Hall at 6-4 and 318, recruiting sites have Dickerson at 6-4/5 and 300. and Hall has an OT's body, dem shoulders. no UTKnate. and hall will have had two springs and summer weight training in him.

Has it been confirmed that Landon made it in?

Yes....everyone scheduled to make it in are there safe and sound. Also ,others like CB Buchanan will visit. This visit by Buchanan should put to rest all speculation that he is visiting Ohio state this weekend.

Per Ryan Callahan on 247Sports:
I'm told all of Tennessee's scheduled visitors for this weekend have arrived on campus.

I was about to ask same question, so thanks. :hi:

Why is this guy not getting much run? If the old adage holds true you build championship teams from the inside out. Then Dickerson is the second most important recruit on campus this weekend. He is a high 4-5* OL, those don't grow on trees, but it seems VN is more concerned with Kongbo. Brown is without a doubt the most important recruit this weekend among the seeming undecided guys, but it seems like Dickerson should be next, ahead of Byrd and Kongbo. That is counting Warrior as a committed already.

I agree. What happened to your post count? Looks like you had a reset at 5.

That's exactly my same order of want for same reasons. To clarify with Byrd, I feel he's also extremely imports because Corners are hard to find on the first place and we possibly have a couple leaving after next year. I really want to get Kongbo, but I also feel DE is one of our deeper positions.

Somehow, some way, Landon needs to be a Vol. Elite O-lineman at a position to be determined. Elite. Do not pass.
