'16 NJ DT Rashan Gary

The SEC has no problems recruiting elite talent and that's not going to change anytime soon. If you seriously think think if the SEC doesn't land the #1 recruit this year is going to hurt things you're crazy. I don't care about the east of the SEC. All I care about is Tennessee.

As far as Gary is concerned, this guy is a freak. I would love if we got him. That being said, I honestly don't want to have our offense to have to play against him. I guess all that SEC dominance has helped Vandy, UK, Arky and Mizzou with recruiting huh?

If you wanna be the best. You gotta beat the best.

uhhh....yea. In the new playoff era, what fool doesn't root for the teams in their conference to kick the other conferences butts? I'm sure you don't want us to be like Baylor or TCU where we win our conference but don't make the playoffs because no one respects the conference we play in. There is a reason the SEC champ had the #1 seed in the playoff last year. There is a reason that in the pecking order of 1 loss teams during the BCS era, the SEC team almost always got in. At the end of the day, conference strength is vitally important if you wanna win national titles.

Considering that what I do from the comfort of my own couch has abso-****in-lutley no impact on the outcome of any game I watch, I'll happily be a fool and root for Bama and UF and UGA to lose every game they ever play, in every sport that exists.

What hurts us is we sucked. What difference would it make if everyone else in our conferece sucked and we rode that weak schedule to the playoffs only to get annihilated like Ohio State and Notre Dame did during the BCS era.

Maybe its just me, but I don't get a high off winning 10 or 11 games against bums. I want to win CHAMPIONSHIPS. And you win championships by beating the best. Not avoiding them.

Who won the natty last year? Hint: their regular season schedule really only had 1 major win before the b10 CCG and the playoffs.

Just sayin.

The dominance of Georgia and Alabama helps Tennessee. If you wanna be the best, your always gonna have to beat the best. No need to whine and cry about other SEC teams being dominant as well.
I would rather step on my own testicle than root for bama. There is something seriously wrong with ur upbringing if you're a Tennessee fan and root for bama.

Just gonna say its if idiotic to root for teams you recruit against every year. Baylor and TCU do not have a conference title game of they did they would be in the playoff. FSU and Ohio state play creampuffs most of the year and still get in. Screw conference pride I hope all the SOBs lose unless they're playing bama.

Kentucky is currently 19th (yes yes, we all know they'll fall some as teams pick up more recruits but still you cannot ignore that) and finished in the top 40 last year. They're at least recruiting better than their record.

Arkansas has finished in the top 30 the last 5 years (I didn't go back further than that) and finished in the top 23 3 of those years. Pretty damn good considering the HORRIBLE transition years they had.

Mizzou doesn't have flashy star ranking but as of this year they have 25 guys in the NFL and are ranked in the top 20 of schools producing NFL talent. You can coach guys up to be good but at some point you have to recognize coaching alone doesn't win all those games or get those guys to the next level. They have talent.

Vandy under a coach that had a pulse finished in the top 30 of the rankings a few times. Considering it's Vanderbilt that's borderline incredible. Gotta think having that SEC brand helped pull a few of those guys.

In short, yeah, the SEC dominance has probably helped them and every other team in the conference at least a little.

Bret Bielema has said multiple times that the day he took the Arky he got multiple recruits who told him no at UW saying they were now interested because they wanted to play in the SEC.

Come get some crow, buddy.

Pretty sure Kevin Steele said "we don't have the players to run a 3-4 and won't anytime soon" a few weeks ago. I doubt we're going to pull a Sunseri and change our base defense without the required personnel.
