QD has looked good in VERY limited playing time. Jones has not seen the field

Transfer speculation is comical at this point

We won't have 4 4* qb on the roster, especially 2 in the same class. Transfer speculation is pretty reasonable.

We need Dobbs to go the distance next year with QD and SJ as back ups. Keep JG hype on lockdown. RS him and sign Hunter then open up the competition Spring 17. This is likely what happens anyway but it keeps future QB status in mystery. Shouldn't scare anyone away until the cream has risen.

I'm beginning to think the reason that Butch hasn't turned Dormady loose in the few opportunities available, is that he's trying to manage just such a situation. If Dormady had wowed?... maybe JG has second thoughts and Sheriron has an itchy trigger finger about how much eligibility he has with a redshirt year already used. Those two compete for the backup spot this Spring...no need to tip hands early. Whoever loses out transfers IMO...that's no mystery. But if either had showed out as too impressive before JG even signed, You'd lose two and we're sweating out Hunter Johnson's last season. :pinch: Lot of crap in this recruiting!

From just watching his highlights you'd think JG regularly runs for big yardage, but that's not the case. His career rushing average is 2.1 ypc.

Freshman: 5 carries for 17 yards (3.4 ypc)
Sophomore: 56 for 42 (0.8)
Junior: 107 for 258 (2.4)
Senior: 82 for 204 (2.5)

Behind a good-to-excellent OL at UT, I think he'll put up much better numbers.

What is this good-to-excellent offensive line you speak of and where does Tennessee get one?

I mean, ya the transfer won't happen till then at earliest, but history shows a transfer will happen, so I don't think speculation is unreasonable.

It is because until it's over and they have competed, the stacking order is not set. What if QD sees JG Is not even close to being as far along as he or if Jones is far superior. At this point, it is silly. A lot more Football to be played before guys who are worth a crap would leave. We have no idea who is the QB for 2017.

Exactly. Not enough game reps for us to start saying who would transfer or be the starter at this point. In the past, Stewart was ahead of Manning and we all know how that turned out.

His speed is deceptive, that's what I meant. Obviously he's a good runner. Calm thyselves...

Just clarifying for another poster. nothing to calm. Doesn't have wheels and has deceptive speed are completely different things, IMO.

There was nothing deceptive about that 58 yard TD reception against Florida. That's when I saw his speed was legit. 4.55 at least.

I think on a lot of scrambles He runs at a controlled pace that looks like he isn't moving fast. Dobbs can fly when being chased. Look no further than that long 60 yard run against Florida when he spun on Antonio Morrison. He turned up the speed as he saw a DB chase him.

Runs as fast as Steve Young...about 4.6

Just finished my highlight tape . Check it out 🔞🏈
Senior Regular Season Highlights - Jarrett Guarantano highlights …

He has a ton of potential. He looks much further along than Dobbs did coming out. He moves better in the pocket and has good footwork and damn hes got a rocket.

Watch his highlights compared to Eason and the only thing I see Eason does better is throw the deep ball.

I think Dobbs is fast, but I'd be surprised if he ran a faster 40 yard dash than Cam Newton did.
