'16 SC RB Tavien Feaster

Hm, that's odd... Looks like this dude just started following 5 of our coaches, as well as Joejuan Williams and Donnie Corley.. :)

We must have added a few Outback gift cards in the package, then. And I know ole' Haslam can kick in some Pilot gas cards.

All kidding aside: damn! That's fantastic news. I hadn't given Feaster a seconds thought in a long time, and even after the visit and his reaction to it I was a bit skeptical. But this is hard to ignore.

Combine his quotes with him removing the commit tweet, and following everybody that you mentioned, and we have *at least* pulled neck and neck, and are likely blowing past Clemson.

Common misconception with the talent comparison. We've finished the year at or above what our recruiting rankings would indicate for the past 4 years or so. Same can be said for our preseason rankings. Yet people somehow believe we underachieve, a la UGA.

We haven't lost a game in 3 years to a team with less talent, barring GT this year, and they were pretty damn good and still finished top 10. Still, if Deshawn doesn't go down, we likely steamroll them. USCjr in '12 and '13 probably had equal talent and we did lose both of those.

We currently have the 2nd longest streak in the country (only to Alabama) when it comes to losing to non-ranked opponents. Quite remarkable turnaround from where we were during the Bowden years. During his tenure we did regularly fall short of expectations and always had at least 2 WTF games a year.

Good points, but you can't use the talent gap as an excuse after 5 or 6 years. At that point it's on the coach and how much talent he brings in is just part of the overall equation. In your first two or three years you have to catch up in talent, that's different. After that, how much talent you bring in and how much you have/sustain is all on you.

I asked about the twitter removal thing and this is the response I got:

"I wouldnt read too much in to that. But I will say this, its 50/50 at this point. The official is the key."

I get the feeling people are going to be saying that a lot about Deshawn over the course of his career. Dabo needs to do a better job of protecting him via play calling than he did last season

I'm not disagreeing with anything you guys are saying. I'm just saying the lack of SEC talent can no longer be an excuse. If we have injuries, yes, we will suffer. All teams deal with that. Some less than others.

I agree with the SEC talent part.. What concerns me is the lack of SEC depth..

The way I see it Clemson can take as many players as they want as long as we're not interested in them. I'd rather see them landing elite talent than SEC opponents or Felony State U just because I hate them. I really have no issue with Clemson because they aren't rivals and they hate FSU and South Carolina. All of that said I want Feaster to break their hearts and commit to us. :)

Well, we've won 10 games for 4 straight years, so there aren't many instances where we don't line up as the more talented team. Dabo's done a great job upgrading the talent at Clemson. We're never going to consistently recruit as well as FSU, but outside of Alabama, who is?

I guess my point is that we have a lot more wins against more talented teams than we do losses against less talented teams, if that makes sense.

And I agree.... Just pointing that one thing out. You can't say "we don't have the talent" after 5 or 6 years like you can when you first start a major rebuild. After that long it's the head coaches fault/responsibility to have the talent. I agree with most of what you said, just nitpicking!

Danny Parker: What would you say your level of commitment to Clemson is after this weekend?

TF: Ummmmmmm...

Thats his entire answer.

Good lord, he sounds like a kid who is having a hard time telling his GF that he is breaking up with her. Did he kick the dirt and refuse to look Dabo in the eyes when he said that as well?

Edit: and for the comment below... that's what Feaster told Dabo. "My Mom is making me break up with you. She can be such a jerk sometimes...I wish we could stay together though!"

Couldn't figure out how to post a screen shot from mobile but over on tigernet they've started in on it being the parents fault he's wavering on his commitment.

If Feaster switches to UT the fault lays at the feet of the coaching staff. End of discussion.
