'16 SC RB Tavien Feaster

Feaster: "Coach Jones, I thought you were only taking one back?"

Coach Jones: " We were, and we're recruiting a lot of good backs. I've coached for over 15 years. You know what I've learned? Things always change. We have a plan every recruiting year. Things have changed. We still want you at Tennessee. We're recruiting a ton of good players. The only way you get better is to compete against the best. And we're creating that environment for competition everyday. You are still our number one back. Not just that, our number one player period. I mean that. I'm calling today to let you know, it doesn't matter who we take a commitment from, there is a spot for Tavien Feaster at the University of Tennessee.

Feaster: "Good to hear coach".

Probably both after it's all said and done.

Guys... Feaster is still just as much a prize today and moving forward as he was this weekend.

He is the equivalent to "most talented player draft pick".
When teams have needs but they have a high draft pick, some of those team often take the most talented player available regardless of position or need.

Feaster is a home run threat, that you recruit until his LOI is signed. Carlin Feels-Good is a huge commitment. Feaster stays with Clemson.... We still got Carlin. Feaster becomes a Vol, guess what? Our depth is now legit at RB And Feaster will see the field as a freshman wherever he ends up.

We filled a need, now we have more room to maneuver with our recruiting.

I hear what you're saying, but do you think Feaster has the same interest in us when he's not the one back in this class like he was told? Clemson's depth chart is now more favorable to him than ours.

Not trying to be a downer, just realistic. Nothing would make me happier than to see Feaster in Big Orange.

I don't see Feaster as a 5*. Just my opinion

I think he's a great player and all, but I wasn't as wowed by his highlights as I'd have expected to be by a 5* RB. I think this year's RB class isn't quite as deep and talented as 2014 and 2015's.

That being said, I'd still take him in a heartbeat.

Same here. I was expecting more when I watched his highlights. Still a very good football player though.

:salute:

Personally, I think Feaster will go to Clemson, but if he wants to come here, I don't think there's any way Butch isn't taking him. We may have planned to only sign 1 RB, but if we can get two top-quality RBs, we take our good fortune and run with it!

Remember, we didn't truly sign a top-quality Freshman back in 2015. We picked up Kamara, who comes in as a Sophomore, so by 2016, our two best backs will be Juniors. It's very likely that Hurd is 3-and-done. Difficult to project what happens with Kamara, but it's possible that in 2017, the guys we're signing in this class end up being the feature backs.

Overall, it would be a good position for Feaster. He could be taking snaps in 2016 given the limited depth, and could be competing to be our starting RB by 2017.

Place went bankrupt a few years ago. It's financially unstable unless they sold the resort. I didn't like it. The fairways were crap, the pool was mediocre and the beach was meh. Just my opinion, I'd take myself elsewhere.

Agreed. It was also hot as balls and muggy as all get out

Agreed, just wanted to know the context. Thanks for your perspective, though.
