Somewhat, but maybe not. Who do you respect more, local high school coach or coach of a major collegiate program? Once again, not saying its right, just the way some kids think.
I met Middleton a few weeks back and was talking to him and some other Knoxville kids and I asked him where he trained because I was gonna bring some GA kids up to there facility, he said he doesn't need to train that all his talents were natural and God LOL
I don't know the kid, but pulling the offer might work or it could back fire. It depends on the kid's personality. My major concern is his current teammates at Powell. He has had a negative impact on his teammates and the new coaching staff. If it wasn't for his talent, he would have been long gone.
I hope by the time our boys get to play for Powell they are back on top again. I am worried about the next couple of seasons. It sucks if not, because they sure did put up with a lot in the Knox Co League.

I would not pull his offer. Some kids have no respect for their peers because their peers are nowhere near their talent level (not saying its the right thing, just the way it is). I bet once he comes here and gets his butt kicked by upperclassmen, his attitude will change real quick.
While I agree this kid is immature and needs an attitude change, you have to remember he's just now starting his sophomore year of high school. Let's not write him off just yet.
He has some upper class teammates who are trying to help him and his head coach did him the best favor anyone could have...he disciplined him. Let him know he's not special, the rules apply to him and nobody needs his bad attitude. Best thing that could have happened to him. He will have to respect coach and his authority. Made him very hungry to get back to the game. Let's hope this helps him turn the corner.

Agreed that Kilgore disciplining him is probably the best thing for him. Of course, he didn't react very well to that and threatened to go to another school. Hope this makes an impact on him and Kilgore keeps him on a short leash. He has some upper class teammates who are trying to help him and his head coach did him the best favor anyone could have...he disciplined him. From a poster on VQ who saw Middleton play last night.
"Against CAK last night in his first game this yr. Physically, he is a MONSTER. But he's got a lot of work to do. Heard the footsteps a couple times (he's 6-4.5, 215) and didn't make the extra effort at all that I saw. Also wasn't in on any defensive stops that I saw. Showed big power but looked a little lost. If he can mature, he will be a man child and the good thing is he has three years."
