'16 TN ATH Darel Middleton (Tennessee signee)

You forgot to mention all of the trash talk he was doing all night long.

I've seen no improvement in his attitude. I'll be surprised if he's still on the team at the end of the year. He was the last one out of the locker room for the 2nd half (except for the 2 freshman carrying water) an didn't warm up with the team.

He does not block anyone when he is in at receiver. It makes me sick to watch him play.
I remember when he joined the team right before school started last year. He looked like a stud athlete, even as a freshman. He seemed eager to help the team in any way so he could get out on the field. He saw his first action against Austin-East after one of Powell's starting receivers went down with a broken ankle. His job that day was to block downfield, and he was impressive. He was a one-man wrecking crew, thanks to his size.

I'd love to see a more humble Darel Middleton, but I think that ship has sailed. I too got very frustrated watching him against CAK last week. He acts like a completely different kid on the field now.

Lets dont give up on the kid yet. Could be lots of stuff going on in his life. We are talking about emotional and attitude issues. Those things are easier to fix than criminal issues.

What number does Middleton wear? #5?
Yup. Didn't do much on Friday night. Didn't make a single play defensively. His only highlight was a one-handed catch for 29 yards (his foot was out of bounds). His demeanor on the sidelines was terrible. Continues to complain a lot.

This kid needs to realize no one really cares.
Lolwut? He's a commitment to The University of Tennessee. Plenty of people care IMO. By the way he never transferred the first time right? If so then I'd actually like to see if he continues this behavior under another staff. JMO

I'm from Powell. People from Powell are growing tired of his shenanigans. Many from Powell wish he would transfer.

I wish he would leave as he is a cancer to the team. The team is growing tired of his "me" attitude. Besides, it's one thing if he was making plays all over the field, but he hasn't done squat this year except for 1 sack. Yes he's tall and big, but so what. His lack of caring and commitment is on fine display every time he steps on the field. I'll be shocked if he still has an offer from UT by the end of the year. Unless they decide to take him on as a "project".

Kids a punk.

A lot of punks are very good at football lol. Ndamukong Suh, James Harrison, Cortland Finnegan, etc. That being said I've never seen him play or met him so idk the extent I guess...

True, a lot of punks are really good at football. However, the list of punks that are really good at football and never made it anywhere because of their attitude and lack of work ethic is much more exhaustive. Middleton, from all reports, is trending down the path of failure and missed opportunity. He needs to get his head on straight, or he'll face an uphill climb to reach his football dreams.

If he is doing the same in the classroom, it is not going to matter
what he does on the field.

GBO

Powell's new offensive coordinator was let go this week. They will revert back to the same OC tandem that they used last season. That may help Darel offensively.

Darel is on a one way street straight to the NFL.

I hope his coaches figure that out and get off his case... Heck, there may be a little kick back for them.

Wrong... he's on a one way street to Wendy's drive-thru, 3:00 a.m. shift.

He is in huge danger of pissing away his future.

They really did a poor job of using him in the Karns game. Those redzone opportunities they gave away should have been toss ups to Middleton. Pretty sure the guy on him was like 5'8.

Absolutely. The offensive playcalling has been very questionable at Powell this year, and I think having a new OC had something to do with that. Here's hoping that going back to their tried and true OC tandem will help.

SMH, you continue to argue with multiple people who live in Powell (including me) in defense of this kid.

This is a completely foolish statement. I've watched every game this kid has played. Honestly, when he commited to UT I was kinda shocked because I had never really seen him do anything special. Then I realized how young he was and gave him the benefit of the doubt. IMO he's nothing special on the field and a complete trail wreck off. I've seen zero to make me think this kid has NFL potential....other than size.
