No I really never said anything definitive like you claim. You on the other hand have done a lot of that.

Let's sum this up for everyone.

1. He's big and young - POSITIVE
2. He's athletic to boot - POSITIVE
3. He has not done anything impactful except for a sack at the end of the Anderson County game last year that sealed the victory. Other than that, not much - NEGATIVE.
4. He has a terrible attitude. This is not the result of being a Sophomore. We have plenty of sophomore's and freshman and they don't have bad attitudes. He's been told he's the best thing since he was young. He feels entitled and feels like he deserves special treatment. The way he acts TODAY, I fully expect he will not last long on the team if he even gets a scholarship. NEGATIVE
5. Let me a tell you a story. When he was an 8th grader, a team I coached played against him. He hit one of our kids 2 yards out of bounds and knocked our kid out cold. When he came to, he was blind and could not see. Worst thing I've ever experienced as a coach. Holding a boy's head in your lap who is crying asking why he can't see. Darrel was on the field high fiving his teammates and his attitude nearly started a riot. We had to cancel the game. When he came to Powell, he bragged about that hit to the kid who got hit. NEGATIVE.
6. He has zero respect for authority. NEGATIVE
7. He threatened our H/C and wanted to fight him. NEGATIVE
8. The only reason he was been given a scholarship is his size - not because of anything he has done on the field. They gave him one on his potential. NEGATIVE

Now, having said all of that. I hope he turns it around. I have yet to see anything that shows me he will as he seems to be getting worse. I have a son on the team so all of this is first hand knowledge.

Seriously, there is no hate. We are sharing an "informed" opinion with those that have no clue because they haven't seen him day in and day out. If you don't want the real story, then by all means you don't have to read it.

You seem to want to ignore facts and hang your hat on the fact that UT offered him a scholarship. I can guarantee you that if Darrel doesn't turn things around, UT will pull the offer.

I appreciate the information you bring. Just use your judgment in what you post, how you post it, and the frequency of posting it.

This kid is a 2016 recruit. Nothing against Darel, but he's really low on the list of this program's worries right now.

Well this is the Middleton thread. I think the information contained herein should and does pertain to Middleton. If you don't want Middleton information, good or bad, I suggest not opening the thread.

The stuff being said isn't new info. That's the problem. That's like me going in Jalen Hurd's thread and posting his stats from the station camp game. The hate (and yes it is hate) is just beating a horse that died weeks ago. JMO

Not angry at all. I just Think criticism of the OP is unwarranted. It's information that I am interested in. Some of it's been said before but much of it was new. :hi:

The only hate I see here is hate for the truth. Most people in the Powell community hopes this kid somehow turns it around. Football is a team sport and this kid is not a team player. I have never seen a high school player turn his whole team against himself before.

I wasn't criticizing him. That's the thing. I was attempting to help him out. And, none of what he said was new information. He was re-capping all the things that have been noted over the pages within the thread.

Anyways, :hi:

Not a big deal.

Hard to ignore that this kid has very serious problems.

But I think it's also just as true that everyone here hopes he can turn it around. However unlikely it seems at the moment. He still has plenty of time to do so.

Please don't take my post as being a smart a$$. I definitely didn't intend it that way. Also while some was rehashed a couple points I had not seen before. Other posters have told him that the stuff wasn't true or it didn't matter if he was a punk and my post was more directed at them.

Odd, I enjoy your post but you've been defending this guys actions at every turn. People in the know realize this kids a huge problem. Does he have time to turn it around, absolutely. I hope he does because he has the potential to be a Vol. But if he continues his current ways, I don't want him near the Vols. I am sure CBJ doesn't need my or anyone on VN evaluation and he and his staff will discover that for themselves. Maybe a change of venue would do him good as I know of no one in Powell really gives a d#$n whether he moves on or not.

Reread my posts. I don't think you have the right opinion of what I said. Your post here sounds a lot like what I've said for the last 3 pages (besides not wanting him to be a Vol)

I took your advise and went back and read all your post. While you may not have explicitly defended him, you have criticized anyone that had anything negative to say about him which is defending by proxy imo. I'm on mobile so I cant quote multiple post but if you can't agree with that I suggest we move along.

I'm at his game tonight. He made one catch on the first drive, tapped out after getting tacked, and didn't return for the rest of the drive. I'll try to update throughout the night.
