'16 TN ATH Darel Middleton (Tennessee signee)

I want to commend this young man for taking a huge step this last Friday to help his team. It is important that he recognizes what his potential can be.

I sure hope it is a sign of things to come. I like the new Middleton better than the old one :hi:

Already has 2 TD catches and is playing well at DE per a poster on VQ.

Showing some maturity and promise.

His best half of the year. Went up and got the ball for two TD's.

Powell dominating Clinton 48-0 at half.

MIA against Halls... Starting QB went down early and he hung his head for the rest of the game. Had a big physical corner playing 12 yards off the line for most of the game, but would him in the mouth when needed. This is where paying attention at practice and respecting his teammates could have made a difference.

Kind of like how you were MIA when he performed well the past couple weeks. You obviously have something against this kid and your opinion means little as you have a clear agenda.

Let's be real here. The entire team was hanging their head. Our best player is done for the year and it had an obvious effect on everyone.

The only negative item I saw was him slamming his helmet after our backup QB tried to throw him a TD and it was intercepted. Middleton slammed his helmet down on the sideline afterwards. However, maybe this is also a positive as it showed he cared and wanted the ball?

I did see some good blocking on several runs from him. I also thought he showed greater maturity because the corner was in his face and Middleton didn't react. Just kept doing his job. The old Middleton would have got a personal foul penalty. Progress. :hi:

Do what? Did you actually watch the game?

Darel played well on defense Friday night, but there just wasn't much opportunity for him on offense with the injury to HO and the way the offensive flow went.

Wish this two yr old that does nothing but try to bash this kid all week would go away. If you have such a problem why don't you tell the kid yourself? You act like you know him so well or ust stalk his every move.

Middleton didn't do much on offense, but played very good on defense last night. Best defensive performance of the year. He also played some wildcat QB on offense since our starting QB went down. He completed a long pass too. Definitely no future as a QB, but he ran the ball effectively a half a dozen times.

He did miss a key tackle though. He came up to deliver a big hit in space and didn't wrap up and the runner slipped away, broke two more tackles and scored the winning TD. I don't blame him on that one, but would like to see him wrap up as he just tried to light him up instead of tackling.

Oak Ridge could not block him all night long and he made several nice tackles.

Ooh. I guess you told me. You don't like what I have to say, I suggest you follow a different thread. Fact is, the kid can barely read, has a piss poor attitude, plays with little effort and will continue to do so as long as people keep propping him up. I guess a better idea would be for all of us to refrain from comment until he becomes an embarrassment for the UT program (no way in hades he qualifies academically) and then wonder why he was allowed to get away with everything while he was in high school. By this time the problem will be too big for Butch to "fix". Good thing is, he is no longer a Powell Panther and that is his own fault. Unless you want to assign fault to someone else and bury your head in the sand.

It's not going to be the popular opinion, but I wonder if in a few years (or less), we're gonna check this guy's posts in this thread and say, "yep. he got it right."

He/she/it may be right, but it's pretty obvious he/she/it is emotionally tied to the situation...

Maybe... but then some posters act as though (potentially) completely valid points are null and void because of the delivery.

I think this guy is probably shooting it straight, but posters don't like the delivery. If he was committed to any other school, it would be open season. JMO.

Took his kids starting spot, his kids gf, and then may have taken out the guys wife as well.

He makes no comment when Darel is doing well. Only shows up to throw dirt on the kid when things are not going as this "coach" thinks they should.

The fact that grown ass men can hate a 16 year old like people hate Darel is sad. Darel do your thing man. Haters gonna hate

Maybe the points are valid, maybe they're not. I know it would never cross my mind to constantly talk **** about a high school kid online. I think people are reacting more to this guy obviously having an ax to grind and being so inappropriate.
