'16 TN ATH Darel Middleton (Tennessee signee)

I keep imagining headfootballcoach in a basement in his underwear doing a tiger woods fist pump every time Middleton screws up.

How is there "no way he quit"? If this "coach" that only posts in this thread was on staff, I wouldn't want to play either whether I was a "punk" as Darel is referred to by grown men on here or not.

I think we can see now over the past few years of UT, bad coaches who just down players don't win you games or motivate players.

Like VC said, I hope this joker isn't a coach and if he is for Powell, I feel bad for every parent with a son playing for him.

Other than some bad play calling this year, the coaches at Powell are good guys. The players get along with them and seem to like them. I don't think Darrell is a punk or real bad kid either. I think he may have some maturity issues the coaches are trying to deal with. He will probably be back on the team by Friday. I too, have a son on the team who is friends with him, so it is pretty close to source info.

But if he goes to Catholic he'll have to pay his own way. Whereas at Webb they can put him on scholarship. Not sure of the kids personal financial situation but tuition at Catholic isn't cheap.

NO chance Webb would touch this kid. They passed on Daniel Hood before he transferred into Catholic.

To hell with football right now I just hope he doesn't drop out of school altogether. Needs big brother program or something

Doubt he would be able to make the grades at either of those schools. Especially if he is struggling at Powell high. Unfortunately that's the case with a lot of area products and has been for quite some time. Then they bounce around to any school willing to let them slide by. See Camion Patrick.

True. Praying the young man gets his life together. Don't know his home life but hopefully he has someone that can mentor him that he will allow to mentor him.

@PANTherBOII_33

Volnation is full of haters I swear starting with people around JESSY SMITHY. #RUMORS

Curious what this is all about?

Gotta get out this school for they spread bother rumor... This one could ruin my life.

HS Drama?

I think everyone deserves a level of respect and should be given a chance but clearly it isn't anyone but Darel himself that is causing these reoccurring problems. I have been caught off gaurd by some of his comments on twitter. Just doesn't make any sense. Can someone please talk to this kid if they are in a position to mentor him and help him?

Would you quit if you were in his position? That will give him such a black eye and could jeopardize his scholarship offer. He was on a very short leash with the coaching staff and I suspect he got in trouble again. Maybe not, maybe he did decide to quit in the middle of the season, but I seriously doubt it. I don't know for sure, but will see what I can find out.

The coach posting is not on staff. You are making a huge assumption here that the problem with Darrel is the coaching staff and that is a mistake on your part. I've been watching him day in and day out for two years, and the problem is with him. I've called him out when needed to and also complimented him, so I don't have a vendetta against the kid. I wanted him to be successful because that helps us out. I really thought he turned a corner as he's played much harder the last few games.

True but Daniel Hood also had a handler. Not sure if this kids has someone in his corner to help him with decisions.

Yes, you are correct. Daniel had someone who was working on his behalf to help him find a school to enroll in at that time.

I don't know why anyone is shocked about this. These things seriously happen all the time. My best friend would quit the team weekly, even called the coach a cripple. Now he's 8 weeks away from a degree. He's young, and he's going to be the best player in state.

no offense, but if this kid thinks some hs rumor will ruin his life, then idk how much of a take he really is.

Well I'm guessing the rumor he is talking about is him getting in trouble. I've seen drugs, bad attitude, grades. Those could all affect and possibly ruin his life if not true. Again, if not true.

Judging by his spelling, not sure Webb is an option.
