'16 TN ATH Darel Middleton (Tennessee signee)

Yeah I've probably been an ass to some you in the past and I do apologize if I did. I just can't stand the posters that don't know the situation saying he's a "thug" or whatever. It bothers me a lot actually that some posters would try at any point to degrade any person who is listed as a commitment (on sites besides rivals) at all. It's the negative world we live in today. I'll look forward to more (hopefully positive) updates. I still feel bad for the kid living in a community in which a lot of people don't like him.

There you go again demonizing anyone who does not agree with your perception of things. The community does not like his behavior. They have given him multiple opportunities and things have not changed. That last line in your post shows your ignorance of this situation.

I said most of the people. Probably a generalization. Would "some of the people" be better? I know for a fact that is true.

I'm not trying to demonize anyone, if you have a legitimate reason to not like him, why does it matter if you don't? If someone lived in my community and did the things he's been said to have done I wouldn't like him either. Is that demonizing myself?

I feel bad for him whether he did or didn't do all of that. At 16 or 17, I think hating him or calling him a "thug" or "he will never play for UT" is just awful. He's a kid...

I realize I have no more credibility than the next guy but I know JPS personally and I can tell you his information is 100% correct. I can also tell you that the majority of Powell folks want nothing more for Derrell to succeed at the the highest level both on and off the field. Most hope he goes on to UT and becomes an AA. Sometimes though just when you think he's turned the corner, he does something bone headed. When this continually happens, you become cynical.

Some people just won't accept that there are folks here who actually are close to the situation and speak from first hand knowledge, and not from rumors.

Fact: This particular young man has been suspended multiple times from the football team, by not one, but two head coaches over the last two years and was booted after 7 games last year.

Fact: He walked out on his basketball team and was kicked off by the basketball coach last year.

As has been said, we all hope he grows up and ends up at UT and is a very good player there, but his history to this point just doesn't indicate that the chances of that happening are favorable.

What would you call his behavior, angel like? It's been documented by tons of different sources that darel has many problems. He makes tg look like a choir boy. Whether you want to believe it or not, the truth is on here. You don't want to see the kid for who it is. Most of the human race is full of scumbags, dimwits, and weirdos. It's your choice to deny that fact.

You make no sense. Post is irrelevant.

First of all I am not calling his behavior anything because I do not know how he behaves. The described behavior in here to me isn't thug-like anyways. More of a kid who doesn't know how to act at age 16. Man that never happens in today's society huh? Secondly, you applied how I feel about one specific Vol commit to how I feel about the world? That makes total sense.

Also what kind of things do you know about TG? He got suspended for a practice for something not released to the public and he loves attention? He's on the same level with 5-10% of major d1 recruits. Is it annoying? Hell yeah. Is it illegal or morally wrong? I would say 99.9% of people would say no.

There you go making statements about things you do not and could not possibly know. Not just about Darel, but about TG and me as well. Next are you going to tell me about astronautical engineering or gene splicing?

Based on this thread you would think the kid is Gucci Mane
It just kind of frustrates me that people have this negative association with someone who has a real shot of being a Vol. Sorry to keep this thread moving with the same crap I might just stop even though some of the posts in here make me think we might not have such a good fan base after all. The 99% is awesome, but that bottom 1% is unbearable in most scenarios.

Watched Invol over the years. Guy would not just throw crap out there. Obviously, the kid is a great player and hope he gets it together and gets a shot.

You are disagreeing with the fact, and that's one of the few conjectures I can think of. I'm not anywhere close to always right. It's one thing when its one poster, but it was a flock of people with no conflicting opinions. Morals are relative, and what I think is morally right and wrong is different fromother people. Some people think drinking and driving is ok, while others dont. TG is annoying like you said though.

I was hoping to see this young man in our 2016 class. I as even trying to give him the benefit of the doubt when it came to the rumors. With VQ removing him from the commitment list, that tells me his chances in Orange are probably very doubtful now. I do hope the kid can work out his issues and take advantage of his football talent.

Hate it for the kid...I really hope he can get his act together. He's not a lost cause...sounds a little immature and needs to do some growing up. Best of luck to him...

It's his fault.

I'm pretty sure he is still a kid and entitled to mistakes. However, you're an adult trashing a kid that you don't know on a message board. Do you not have anything better to do? Are you afraid that if you don't trash him every moment of every day that he will slip through your fingers and get a spot on the team?

I've never seen anything like a grown ass man who would spit on a kid who has issues that we do not know about.

Shame on you.

And that has nothing to do with my opinion of DM. That's for the coaches to decide.

Keep fighting the good fight, choir burger.

I'm not that much older than him. You'd be surprised what ya see when you open those eyes.

I don't get why people feel sympathy for him eventhough he gets himself in these situations with his actions.

Maybe because he was raised in a different household than you. Some of these kids weren't blessed with a mom and dad to show then how to act and be an upstanding individual. Lot of factors that go into molding a young mind.
All I'm saying is sometimes things can happen in a kids life that changes a lot of who they are. Hell he might just be a bone head I don't know. All we can do is hope for him to get into school, if not he's old enough now to change his mindset if he wants to

Yes but that's business for him and his family. Why does his personal life need to be put on display here? Grow up.
