'16 TN ATH Darel Middleton (Tennessee signee)

I guess the racketeering got him in the end.

Ps- that's still DMs business, and none of yours. He is a kid and has to carve his own path. Who are we to judge him? The fact that you don't get that is astounding.

Racketeering didn't get him, he got himself. We don't need to judge him personally but his actions certainly will be judged by others that could change his future. Mainly CBJ. The kids actions forced CBJ to judge him and in a negative light. Rather simple.

Should I have used blue font?

Well, believe it or not, Darel quit before practice tonight. He was asked to play TE instead of WR and he said no. That lead to an argument and he left.

Who knows if this is permanent, but he's incognito tonight. Good grief.

UPDATE: my son said the HC had a team meeting and told them he had to kick Darel off the team.

Truly sad.

I heard from one of the coaches at Powell that moving from WR to TE was not what led to the reason for dismissal. I am not going to disclose what happened because I am not sure if they would like that. However, it is safe to say that he was disrespectful and was given several chances to get his act together. This new coaching staff tried to help him as much as possible on and off the field, but he continued to do what Darel wanted to do when Darel wanted to do it. Its very sad and unfortunate that this kid could possibly self-destruct his future by continuing to make bad choices.

Funny, I heard from a coach as well who told me he was not happy about playing TE which lead to the disagreement. But, it doesn't really matter, he's gone for good and I'm done with this thread :p

Yeah, he's carving a path. I'm pretty sure I know how this story ends, and there you'll be wanting to give him his 15th chance.

I'm told that was what set off the final outburst, as well.

I trust my source on this one, given that he was there.

..and there you'll be criticizing every move made by a kid in high school because of the issues you suffer from yourself. It's ok, you're from Kingsport.. I get it.

Orange Hammer-I am amazed at the lengths you go to support a kid that clearly has serious attitude and behavior problems. At least have the honesty to admit that if nothing else this kid is a freaking QUITTER! He has quit every team he has been on as soon as he didn't get his way.

I may be wrong and usually am, but he seems to be more on the side of it's really none of our business what the young man does or doesn't do rather than supporting him

Obviously, you think too much. There is no room in this thread for people that use reason and sensibility.

You sir, need to GTFO!

Social commentary aside, this whole thing breaks my heart. I can't imagine the kid's regrets in a few years.

I just hope in a few yrs this kid actually regrets it. If he doesn't change he has a hard row to hoe. It's like my dad told me you meet one a## a day he is a## you meet thirty a##es a day your the a##

Not saying that you are wrong, nor that I agree with this, but the reality in this day and time is that when kids promote themselves on social media like this particular prospect has done it opens them up to feedback - be it positive or negative.

Social media is great in one sense, but it's a curse in another, but one can't have it both ways.

If this were Gibson I would agree with you somewhat, but most of this is from people around him I guess. While some seem like they actually hope for the best for the young man and are relaying what they've seen or heard, some seem like they take pleasure from this young man wasting a once in a lifetime opportunity. Either way it's really none of our business
