So he is back on a football team elsewhere-
Kid has more lives than a *****cat.

Hopefully he will see he won't have any options left after this and still has a CHANCE to make it to UT. If he just submits to authority, works hard on and off the field, and of course in the classroom- he should really consider maybe some kind of weekly counseling or anger management.

Good Luck Darel! You have been blessed with a lots of potential, put it to good use and you will be successful in whatever you want to do!

I just watched the documentary, "Undefeated", about the Memphis Manassas HS football season of 2009, and one of the players, Chavis Daniels, is what I picture when I think of Darel Middleton. It is going to take a coach like Bill Courtney to get through to Darel like he eventually did to Chavis. Hooefully, Gaddis is that man.

Great film btw. It won an Academy award for best documentary. Perfect time of year to watch it, and it will make you fight back tears if you ever were part of something bigger than yourself, and/or ever had a passion for wanting to help kids want better for themselves, esp. kids like Darel who need a lesson in life as much as football.

Woods did not get cleared because the letter that Lenoir City sent stating that he is not transferring for athletic reasons did not also state that he is not transferring for disciplinary reasons.

Yup, couldn't agree more. Great documentary. That's Will Redmond(Miss St) Soph year if I remember right.

Roll Wildcats, Roll! Coach Gaddis will keep him in line and, more importantly, help him grow as a young man. I wish him the best & if all works out would like to see him in orange.

Anybody have any updates on Darel? I heard he was sent home from a practice a couple of weeks ago, but haven't heard anything else.

Does anyone from OR know if he's straightening up?

We get it that you don't like the kid, and although I could care less what happens here you are clearly here as if you have some vendetta against a high school kid -- something is wrong with you.

Heard the same story, so I asked OR's play by play guy about the situation. Middleton is expected to play against Farragut, as of Tuesday evening, so unless something else happened yesterday or today, he should be good to go for their season opener.

Thanks... Just curious to see how he acts the remainder of the season. Hopefully getting sent home was a wake up call for him.

Farragut doesnt go in his direction much at all... He's also being double teamed by their two biggest linemen... I believe Gilliam is one of them
