Donte' had a great time again at the game. His dad told me this morning that, from what he sees, the Vols still lead, and "if we win state, he will commit to somebody." Let's hope we get that commit.

Thank for continuing to share the information. Is Whitehaven a 6A school? I saw that they play Ravenwood this week. It should be a great game.

The match up between him and Van Jefferson should be something to behold.

Whitehaven is loaded with talent. I know an assistant who helps coach the middle school team, and he says they just keep developing players. He says there are some young players that could compete at other schools but can't get on the field much there.

According to his dad, he doesn't get many passes thrown his direction for obvious reasons. He usually intercepts them. This kid is a great athlete and a pure ball hawk.

I don't know much about West Tennessee HS football. Do they have the talent and coaching to compete with Maryville?

Yes, Maryville's system and coaching are incredible. They get their share of athletes, too. They will be tough to beat in the Finals.

I know that Oakland is very good and has faced tougher competition than Maryville. It should be a good game. I should not have posted that Maryville will be in the finals because getting past Oakland will be very tough. I still think Maryville wins, but it will be close. Sorry to derail the thread. I hope that we get Vaughn, for sure.

Read the article that I have linked. Maryville and Whitehaven played for the title two years in a row in 2011 and 2012. Maryville won the first while Whitehaven won the second. Mark Dodson, who is now at Ole Miss, had 318 yards in the second game.

Last year, they lost in the second round of the playoffs. This year, they are undefeated and play Ravenwood in the semifinals.

Thanks for linking the article. I remember watching that game. I had forgotten it was Whitehaven. I was glad for them. It seemed like a great community got behind the school and turned out in full force at the championship game. I don't think that Maryville has lost since then. I would love to see a rematch again.

Got a CB to the good guys yesterday from Brad Shepard. '16 is gonna be a great year in-state. I could see us pulling 4 or 5 of the top 6.

Vaughn, Williams, Warrior, and Osborne would be one heck of a realistic db haul next year. But with Butch who knows. A good 9 win season or better and Butch could have us in the mix with anybody.

Nothing new at this time. I think we still are the favorite right now. He and his family really like UT and the staff. I think he is ours at the end.

I just heard from Donte's dad. They will be at Jr. day on the 21st. His list as of now is, UT, Bama, Ole Miss, Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss, and Ohio State. Hopefully he will have a great time at Jr. day.
