Why are we just now hearing about this kid on a larger scale? Just curious.
Does Nate's QB get D1 recruiting attention? Any chance we could get him as a preferred walk-on? Kid looks good. Saw him hit Johnson on a back shoulder throw in that highlight reel. What HS QB knows how to throw back shoulder?
He has some mid-major offers, schools like MTSU iirc. He's much better than Deuce Wallace, the kid who committed to Vandy, who had a lot of offers. Bunch isn't a big, pro typical drop back passer per se size-wise, but he can really throw it, is athletic, very accurate. Very confident kid. Someone will get a very good one.
Yes, it's interesting that nate johnson is rated 91, and that Velus is rated at an 88. If heights and weights are right as well there isn't much of a difference between 5'11 175(Johnson) and 6'0 180(Jones). Personally I would take the instate kid because he is an absolute burner, and really its splitting hairs between these guys. I like Johnson the most personally, so i hope that 67% percent crystal ball in our favor has some weight to it.
Media in Nashville raving about this kid last week leading up to the state championship games
Very well thought of around the mid state
He tore it up this year and got "robbed" out of the Mr. Football award. Put up 2x the numbers as Tee Higgins and his name was on the transcript given to Mike Keith when announcing the winners. Turns out it was a mistype and Higgins actually won. So he not only had to find out he wasn't the winner, he had to give his award back so it could be given to Higgins.

Not the biggest guy in the world. Just started hitting the radar this past summer with some very good camp performances, rated a 3star. Committed to Purdue back in the summer, his dad's alma mater iirc. Can't really say why the delayed attention in particular, but he's really blown up with an incredible senior season. Honestly not sure how he'd translate to the SEC....assuming he's be a good slot WR with development. He's a tough-minded kid, plays aggressively, has very good though not elite speed. Curious to see if he pulls the trigger to Tennessee and even how "committable" the offer is. I heard last week that he was very excited about the Miami offer, but not sure how the Tennessee offer may change his mind. 24/7 has 67% of their crystal balls for Tennessee, 33% for Vandy. We'll see.
