'17 AL DE LaBryan Ray

So, one report and not multiple reports which you stated in your previous post. And I trust Hubbs who saw him walking with his own two eyes and the report on VQ that specified is was an MCL and PCL tear with no bone damage. He will miss spring ball and should be back by fall camp.

I hope you are right. Heard different things and of course UT is not coming out with stuff. Very confusing for sure.

This is exactly why your presence here on VN is a detriment to people that want to get info. You state your own opinion as facts.

You see "by all accounts" means "by all accounts". Not just one account. In this case Hubbs is the only account but you want to believe it's "by all accounts". You apparently aren't willing to read any post or report that doesn't make you feel warm and fuzzy.

Hubbs says Tuttle is fine while JimmyK and Parker say he isn't. If you want to say that Tuttle is fine "by all accounts" then you are flat out being a liar.

Well, I reckon this town ain't big enough for the 2 of ya.

That's a good number. A lot of it is due to the level of talent that they recruit more so than 'coaching them up'. But your inference was that any kid that went to Bama would have a shot at the NFL and that's not an accurate take.

It doesn't matter if they're coached up or not. If you stick it out and earn a starting spot you will have a very good chance of getting drafted. It's the most dominating dynasty in NCAA history. Saban doesn't kiss ass anymore with recruits because he's going to win with you or without you. Not every kid wants to be in that tho

Very true that the coaches know more about who will be available this year. My ideal roster is probably something like this:

QB - 4
RB - 5
TE - 4
WR - 10
OL - 15
DL - 18
LB - 12
DB - 14
ST - 3

So, to me, you recruit to keep this balance. Some years, you'll be heavier in certain areas, but 20+ seems excessive in any area. No way we would pass on Ray (obviously), so I'm just curious if we would ask someone else to walk at this point. That's all.

Have to. This class would go from mediocre to really good with that close. Ray would be yuge. Need him badly

To appease the star gazers, Ray's 5 and Conliffe is a 4. That would raise our over composite score all from a 235.97 to a 249.72. That would put us in the top 8.

Only Minnesota has more (24) 3*'s. Colorado and Mizzou (21) and Duke has (20).

I love the fact that CBJ has a player model that he goes by. High character guys and we have been pretty good at staying out of trouble lately. My concern is turning those high character guys into elite football players. Develop our 3* recruits into All-American caliber talent. It's going to be hard to ever beat Bama with that margin of disparity.

I mentioned in another thread that I wouldn't necessarily read too much into that. Saban originally was scheduled to visit Ray tomorrow, so it's not as if he was moving it up from Thursday or Friday to today. It's my understanding that some things just might've gotten shuffled around on Alabama's travel schedule overall.
That said, I do think Tennessee still has a legitimate shot – probably more of a shot than most people are giving the Vols. I don't think Ray knows what he wants to do right now, but Alabama obviously still feels pretty good about him

Fingers crosseed Tuttle gets back but with the accounts by Knoxville media being contradictory we really need to get ray and or Conliffe to help out the DL. It's a huge need as there isn't a consensus amongst those that cover the team that Tuttle will be back and if he is how effective he will be.

Anyways, back to Ray.

I truly hope we can pull this off. Coupled with Trey Smith, it would give us two crown jewels for this class.

I really don't want this to happen, but I get basically the same feeling about his recruitment as I did with Derrick Brown's last year.

I disagree. I think it gives us 4 crown jewels in Smith, Gray, Chandler and Ray. I really believe that Chandler and Gray are grossly under-rated.

I can agree with this. I was star gazing for a moment, but if we're being honest, Chandler is one of the recruits I'm most excited about.

There was no bone damage. It was just his MCL and PCL. Generally about 4 months recovery time. Again the 'worse than the injury before' was overblown by Dr. Jimmy Hyams and people such as Bruin run with it and create their own story line.

I stand corrected, was just re-hashing what either Calloused Hand or Brice said the other day, or maybe *****er.
