'17 CA QB Jack Sears (Duke commit)

We could take a 2* QB who plays 6 man football who threw for 317 yards last year in the mountains of Montana and it would be followed with, "he good", "trust Butch", "He's underrated, should be a 4*", and so on. No matter who we take, as fans were going to insist he's good.

Absolutely.

Shut up, Leb.

JJ Watt, Derek Wolfe, Antonio Brown, and Eric Fisher were all low ranked players butch recruited and/or coached. One was a first overall pick, one is the most dominant DE in the NFL and the other is one of, if not the most dominant receiver in the NFL.

So there's a problem with trusting the staff? I haven't yet seen a reason not to.

That's because if Jones and staff take him, he is good. Otherwise, he wouldn't be a take. Simple.

When we are winning big this year, I hope some of you Jackwagons do not come on this site celebrating.

ABSOLUTELY

Give me a break. Because some of us question something, or have a differ option, doesn't mean we are not fans. I've gave a lot of money to UT over the years, and usually go to a couple games a year(basketball too)

Get off your high horse

I like riding high on my horse. Problem is not questioning something but questioning everything.

Back in the saddle again.

Now should I list all the busts? I won't. Its silly though to point to 4 guys who panned out when the list of those who didn't would be MUCH larger.

My comment was simply pointing out that no matter what talent a kid has or what he's ranked he's a star in the eyes of our fan base. Woody Quinn. "He gonna be a star!"

That's a great idea Leb. Excluding the first class where he was trying to make chicken salad out of chicken chit, please list the true He Wasn't Very Good 3* busts from the last two classes. And I mean busts that were actually signed, not the recruiting projects that didn't develop. And when you do, make sure you also include guys like Wharton, Blair, Helm, and Hendrix who were 4*.

Truth is there is no right answer for you. This is just another way for you to complain. Some of us enjoy having something to believe in, and people like you seem to enjoy tearing that down. Being a skeptic requires nothing and delivers nothing. Believing in something is hard but can deliver great returns. Maybe you should try it sometime, or at the very least, leave the rest of us to our happy delusions.

But can he throw it over a mountain and are we certain his coach will put him in fourth quarter in state?

The sheep will quickly jump all over someone complaining about CBJ for taking a commitment from a less talented player.......then same sheep will be saying to make room at the end when the real elite players want in. Seen it to many times.

Not me. Don't take the commitment if you're not going to honor it. If you may recruit over the kid in the same class, just don't take him early.

I'm fine with 3* players. Fact is there are ALOT of role position type guys needed to build a winner. You just can't be naive and think stockpiling 3* signees will have you in the top 5 classes.

On the day he committed, Dormandy was rated, as a 2 star. Ended up a lot higher.
