Jack Sears was in town and worked out with Jon Gruden working the camp. Sears isn't doing interviews and while I think he likes Tennessee, I will stick with my thought that the offer from UCLA changed his recruitment a great deal.

Hopefully not, but i could understand it. I grew up wanting to play football for the Vols. If I would have gotten that scholarship offer as a kid it would have been over. There would have been no other school to consider. Maybe it won't hold the same for Sears.

Absolutely. Especially if they end up missing on Emory Jones. Problem is after Sears, who I think you have to consider a longshot, the list of possibilities looks really bad.

Right now, it seems the No. 1 target continues to be Jack Sears.

The Vols felt like the visit went very well last weekend with the California prospect and are a very real possibility right now. Obviously, UCLA and the other West Coast teams continue to stay in the mix but it's fair to say the Vols are a team Sears and his family are comfortable with.

If Sears decides to stay out West or surprise a lot of folks and head to somewhere like Duke, then Brock, Lemle and CJ Lewis seem to be the next options.

It's not quite the same news we're hearing with Jack Sears. While we have said Tennessee has remained a contender for Sears, we hear more strongly now that the West Coast will be hard to leave for him.

Programs like UCLA and USC have turned up the heat in their pursuit of him in recent weeks and that seems to be paying off.
