'17 FL RB Timothy Jordan (UT signee)

We can get by with 5 RB's total for next year's roster. Heck, some schools only have 4 on their roster certain years. We should shoot for 5 & if we can get a RB that we do really want then make it 6 RB's.

Otherwise don't it CBJ & go with what we will have available but I think 5 will cut it.

We got in too late for some of these RB's. Can't expect them to jump & run to UT. If & whoever we get from now on will be those safety net RB's in case of injury.

You wouldn't take Williams or do you think he is UL bound?

I think he is Louisville bound. 95% confidence. I think we're gonna end up getting the Lovett kid myself but we do have some options at RB even though most of them have went elsewhere. We're also not 100% out on Etienne but appear to be 100% out on Felix.

I personally don't see us getting Jordan to flip to being a Vol. Hope I'm wrong if we can't get another quality RB but I think he's Hilltopper strong.

You don't think a kid would covet an offer from Tennessee more than an offer from freaking Western Ky? Why on earth not?

Coleman is solid and had a solid season. He's our 3rd RB, and right now he's actually our 2nd RB. Gonna be hard getting one more let alone telling Coleman to go elsewhere and find another replacement for him. He's likely 1 of our 3 in this class

How is Coleman our second RB right now? Neither signed nor on campus. CFA is our number 2 RB going into 2017 until further notice.....and then Chandler likely leapfrogs him in fairly short order. I got it Kelly, Chandler, CFA and Coleman

WKU has been just as good as UT overall in the past 10 years. They have went to a bunch of consecutive bowl games. More consecutive than us. They are a team that now gets better recruits. That's why!

We do have program prestige on them but in recent years WKU has been a program comparable to us.

Do what? Tony, you surely don't believe this! WKU isn't in UTs stratosphere and no legit recruit is gonna choose WKU over UT when given the option!

Btw, WKU is 64-62 the last 10 seasons, including an 0-12 season and two 2-10 seasons.....while playing in the Sunbelt and CUSA conferences. Tennessee, as bad as we've been, is 67-59 during the same time period!

And again, perhaps a kid or 2 would shrink from playing at a program like Tennessee and in the SEC, but I doubt it! If you get legit offers from both schools, a legit recruit picks Tennessee 10 out of 10 times!

Thanks!

A recruit choosing WKU over UT could very well be due to personnel. Have you ever thought about that part? Maybe they also don't think UT is a fit for them since CBJ has came here. There's a lot that could factor in on whether a recruit would choose WKU or UT.

And, yes, in recent years we haven't shown that we're much if any better than a WKU program. Compare our records with them & they've been to more consecutive bowl games than we have too. Am I saying WKU is a better program?

No, not overall but what have we done? Look at what their records have been the past 10 or so years & compare them to our records over that same period of time.

I already stated we had them easily in program prestige but parity in college football has become a big factor. We have recruits signing for all sorts of schools for various reasons.

Thanks for the discussion buddy. Great that we all have opinions & none of us are necessarily wrong here but I do mean what I've said though with my opinion.

I'm pretty sure he means second RB in this class right now.

He was under the impression I was saying we needed to drop Coleman and add two more RBs.

If we can't land Jordan, it will be because he jumps to a P5 school other than Tennessee.

Not because he sticks at WKU.

they lost to UT by like a million points twice during that time frame right? Sooo not really understanding the " just as good as UT" part???

What are you laughing at Ron? :p:p:)

Instead of laughing guys go to Wiki & just take a look for yourself at the records. Now, we did kill them one game when Kiffin was here that one season but overall they have been a team at least comparable record-wise to us.

They don't get the same talented type players we get for the most part but they do have a decent program now. Even have won 10 games in 2 of the past 10 seasons or so but they do play in a much weaker conference. Just saying Ron.

There's no guarantee Jordan is coming to UT. It's been 3 weeks since we offered him & has he jumped on it yet? Huh? I think he's staying to be able to actually play some RB instead of signing with us to set the bench. Again, RB personnel at UT would keep him on the bench for the most part while playing at WKU he gets the ball. Thanks there Mr. Ron! :)

Oh, gotcha. Misconstrued the context. Couldn't figure out how he thought Coleman was #2. Apologies.

There's no really fair way to compare record-wise since WKU turned FBS in 2008. They have been 57-52 since 2008 & we since 2005 have been 81-69. Not much difference there in winning % is it? Just saying.

Having some fun with this too guys so don't go all ballistic on me but they really aren't far apart record-wise. That's with UT having 3 extra years because WKU wasn't FCS until 2008. Thanks! :p:wink:
