'17 GA CB/WR Jamyest Williams (S. Carolina commit)

If the Gamecocks land this guy they will clearly be pulling away from us in the rankings. I have a real problem with Muschamp being able to out recruit Butch. South Carolina is a team with a lot of question marks right now.

It's a little concerning for sure. I guess Muschamp can sell immediate playing time

I am sure that is helping him.

The greater Atlanta area produces some great talent and we are going to need to beat USCe in these battles. The Gamecocks really hit that area hard.

Landing Williams would not pull SC to where we are now, let alone help them "clearly pull away from us." Your pessimism is consistent as always, but you should at least try to include some truth in the base of your outlandish declarations.

Nah, giving them too much credit. Williams would easily be their best get but with 19 commits the average star rating is even rougher than ours at around an 85. They would draw even with us as far as 4*'s go with three, but I wouldn't trade classes with them.

Just looking at Rivals...Williams would bring them to about 1535 points...more than 200 points behind us with only 4 fewer recruits and 1 away from the 20 limit that Rivals uses...it would give them 5 4*'s to our 6...and it would give them a recruit that is almost 50 spots below our highest ranked recruit...

Yeah...I'm not sure how this clearly puts them ahead of us in recruiting...you'd have to really want to believe that to let your mind go there based in this evidence

To compare the two schools recruiting classes at this point in the year is pathetic. South Carolina will lose the interest of their recruiting targets as the season goes on while on the other hand we will gain interest.

Actually, I'm sure a South Carolina will be targeting a few of our current commitment that we "let go of" in the middle of the season.

I am using the avg player ranking that Rivals currently has. Right now we are tied with South Carolina at 3.17. If they get Williams they are going to get a bump in the rankings that will easily raise their avg past ours.

Ah, using Rivals. I see what you're saying now.

He's a miserable troll from another school. How else can you explain such ignorance.

Just using simple math. If you go to the Rivals rankings and look at the avg player rankings you will see the same thing. We could speculate on what might happen in the future but for now it is what it is.

That's something you'll see play out on here as it did last year. The same folks saying wait, wait, its August, a bunch will get bumps, top 10 come NSD, and you'll see. When the class ranks 14th and NOT top 10, well it's underrated, they are better than the ranking, and if you don't see it you're blind. I expect it to play out in a similar fashion this year. The class could finish 25th and the excuses would be plentiful.

I know some people are always going to say that rankings don't matter, especially when we are having a class like this year, but when you look at the teams that are playing for championships they are recruiting top 10 classes year after year. Unless Butch does something to turn this class around we are going to pay for it in the future.

Nobody was really expecting last years class to be top 10 cause we weren't gonna be able to sign as many. We had the highest average * ranking of the CBJ era though.
But ok lol, whatever you say

I think what says it all is that Eastside (not a real) vol and Crunchy (I think he's soft) Leb agree with each other. They must have made a pact because they have to get likes from somewhere.

What's really funny is that if we got a 4* Rivals player, Leb would be the first to point out if he wasn't a composite 4*. But his fellow troll uses Rivals to try to make a worse case for our class, and Leb pats his back. Even he must see the hypocrisy here. BTW, even if SC added JW, they would still be behind us in player ranking, but keep going with whatever helps you sleep at night.

Unfortunately that's not really true. The class "looked" like it was small. In reality it wasn't as it was 25 because there were 4 blue shirts that were part of it. The average star rating also goes down when you factor them in.

Just seems lately the trolls have been full force on this forum

Jamyest is a high 4* recruit and to some posters that's all that seems to matter to them in recruiting. Would you trade Jamyest with Baylen Buchanan who was one of our lower 3* recruits, but Shoop has praised him so far and coaches have said he reminds them of Cam Sutton when he first arrived? I do believe that recruiting matters a lot if you want to win big in college football, but look a little deeper at the recruit than just what he's star rating is before you determine he's a bust.
