I guess all of you are content with Max 8 win seasons and losing to Vanderbilt and south Carolina.
Obviously my standards are higher if you're okay with us having mediocre coaches. The best thing Butch can do is ditch most of his assistants and bring in new ones. But he has shown he's stubborn already so he probably won't and that may end up being what gets him fired.
Whoever believes that pitch is an idiot and we wouldn't want them if that stupid
I understand it would have been better but not drastically.
Idiotic fan speculation on CBJ being gone after next yr is what is impacting recruiting. That is what rival coaches are selling.
Thinking Tennessee "is going to have a hard decision to make" if they go 8-4 next yr is stupidtalk. Tenn just finished paying off Dooley, they are NOTgonna start a new 4 yr payoff with Jones regardless of the record.

And that will destroy recruiting

You mean the AD deciding whether or not to extend him and by how much?
It will get done one way or another and recruits will pay much more attention to how the team looks on the field and how we did in the draft in 2017.
Context will be very important. If the team plays solid ball all season but just doesn't have any bounces go their way for whatever reason, I doubt it would matter that much.
Auburn is in that position right now and sitting on a nice recruiting class because, despite being 8-4, they've looked pretty good for the most part this year.
I agree. IMO, CBJ's future at UT will be decided by far many more factors than an arbitrary W/L benchmark assigned by message board posters no matter how much I respect their opinions.
Firing of head coaches always comes down to a business decision. They fire them when it becomes cheaper than keeping them. If people are still supporting the program financially through ticket sales, donations etc. the team could go 4-8 and they'd keep him. It's always a financial decision.
