'17 GA LB Mo Burnam (former UT commit)

If it happens to one player in a class it's understandable as the numbers just didn't work out exactly as planed. It's unfortunate but it happens.

If you fill up your class months before signing day every single year and then start culling 3-4 fish out of the live well after bigger catches then it was part of the plan all along.

Again I have put a detailed list out of what has been successful for jones regarding lower ranked players. That list of success stories has been by flipping kids from lesser schools late in the process. So with that said Tennessee is an elite school and if butch would act like that early on in each cycle there wouldn't be these burned bridges left afterward. It isn't like Tenn needs to be first in the door with kids. We are elite and can get kids when we want them.

Your crusade has grown tiresome and the energy you put into it will make zero difference. Pack it up and head back to Europe.

Obviously, this is not a revelation but making absolute statements (and forming absolute opinions) based on incomplete information is an excellent way to stick your foot in your mouth and look like an ass. And yet you are able to do just that over and over and over again...well done Bruin, we'll done!

Except your list was hogwash. You twisted facts to fit your narrative and refused to have any consistency on when and what counted as an early commit from a lowly ranked player.

NCAA football is a big business, don't fool yourself. Coach Jones and other coaches are making a lot of money at it. If they want to continue to keep making their large salary they better win games. To win games you get the best players available. Which sometimes means you step on the feelings of others.

They also try and help place these players in other schools that fit their level of play better as well. They are not just released and left to fin for themselves.

I'm sure Coach Jones hates to have to inform these young men that they are going to go with someone they feel is better. That can't be an easy situation, especially after they have built a relationship with these kids for several months. But if you pass on getting better players, the coach will be fired soon anyway.

Life is not always fair and either is recruiting.

Not necesarily saying it's him, but someone will be wearing it. Numbers too tight and it happens every year.

Very nice post about recruiting buddy. :good!:

Sounds like Burnam and Henderson may both be dropped, which is great news IMO. We desperately need to upgrade at LB. Landing Ignont yesterday was just huge.

Burnam is most definitely gone but Henderson is a question mark.

Tyler Taylor & Nathan Proctor. Both are 4* recruits at LB.

It seems like we could have had Taylor over the summer. I seem to remember he had us as the leader and was about to commit and then we suddenly backed off and thought he was a bad fit.

I would hope we are completely re-evaluating things at LB and with Taylor with the way we've struggled there this season.

We desperately need a SAM (I think he'd fit well there), so we can go 4-3 in certain situations and be effective doing so, and we also clearly need to find some guys who can play in the box effectively when we go Nickel and only have 2 LB's out there. The guys we have playing now are not physical enough and cannot shed blocks either.

Geez.. it's ok for Saban, Dabo, Harbaugh, Freeze, and other coaches to let commits go but if Butch does it, oh he's just evil and classless? :dunno: Alrighty then.

Lmao when have you ever seen Saban or Dabo load up on 3 stars before the season even starts and then tell them bye?

Or maybe being a former Tennessee commit helps them land at a better program than they otherwise would have?

It most definitely does.....the first question EVERY recruiter in the world asks a kid is "who else is talking to you?"

And you cant lie cause these coaches, in most cases, know the answer before they asked the question. But the fact that a Tennessee saw something in the kid to begin with gets other schools interested.

You're right about Taylor & the early on stuff. Things cooled down for a while but we're in his top 6 schools as of right now but he still has at least 3-4 more visits left at other schools too. I think we're most definitely in play for him & I'd say we would even make his top 3 but he's just mentioned his top 6 & we're in those.

What he is saying is obvious. I like Butch. This year he has taken many lower ranked players very early. I think everyone who really follows UT recruitment knows that fact. I'm just saying that not everyone does that and he has a point.

Jaquan Henderson? I thought the staff was really high on him. And OV said he was super underrated and all GA HC coaches were very surprised he wasn't at least a 4*

Just going by what TOS has been saying the last few days. They've said he's been having a disappointing senior season and this is coming from the same guys who were calling him underrated as well over the summer. Plus you have the off-field issues.

Like I told Hardy in a previous post I think Henderson is a question mark whether we let him go but Burnam I think is about a 95% chance.
