'17 GA LB Mo Burnam (former UT commit)

raw

This is another reason why all the 3* U folks need to stop. Our coaches and evaluators find kids they like and offer early. They allow lower rated guys that they think could end up developing to commit early. If they don't develop the staff keeps recruiting that position and the git shirts come out. If they do develop, they most likely get a bump and end up a 4* by February on at least one site. If everyone would settle down and let the coaches do what they do it would be a lot less miserable around here. Probably won't happen but here's hoping. :toast:

If they stop whining and complaining before the class signs, how will we know they're completely missing in action after we sign another good class?

While they end up screwing over those lower rated guys. How about not offering in the first place?

Or maybe being a former Tennessee commit helps them land at a better program than they otherwise would have?

what? You mean they get exposure and therefore better offers? You mean Butch isn't the devil and it can be mutually beneficial? OMG NBA AFLAC OU812

I've turned around on that. I slightly agree with you. At least LIMIT the under the radar offers.

This is what people need to understand. A scholarship offer from UT is a major deal for their recruitment. Some kids commit to big school's early for recognition and then decide to go elsewhere.

As long as you don't hang a kid out to dry a week before signing day I don't see the big deal. If they are not elite in HS, they are probably not going to play at UT anyway.

I kind of see it like that but I kind of see it as a positive for the kid that goes elsewhere. He gets some exposure early by being a UT "commit" and other programs come in with legitimate offers.

Butch may even tell the kid up front that we are offering now but we want to see how your development goes through the rest of your senior year.

For the ones that complaining about this(Butch letting 3* commits go) it was bound to happen. Butch is going to allow some 3* recruits go elsewhere to try & get some of these 4* & 5* recruits available.

People may think it's dirty especially for the media but it is what it is & other schools do the same thing. Early on people were guessing CBJ was going to cut 10+ commits but I don't think it will go that high. I said 4-6 recruits initially.

I said it might go as high as 7-8 though in recent weeks. If he lets more than 10 current commits go elsewhere I will be a little shocked.

There's probably not more than 10 players left to go after anyhow that's worth letting that many 3*'s go. I'm talking about recruits that are seriously interested in us.

Some people on here was whining about Butch taking 3*s. Now when he's telling 3*s to look elsewhere to replace them with a higher rated player, they'll start complaining about how classless it was for Butch to let them go. Lol

Like a never ending cycle of misery and self-loathing. Lol.

I have a novel idea.....,

Don't take these type kids in the first place and there won't be any complaining when the commit or when the get told to beat it.

The 'Airing of Grievances' is a minute by minute affair here. The cast of characters changes as well as the complaints themselves but be assured there will be complaining.

Whiners.

It just seemed to me that CBJ rushed into getting all these 3* commits for 2017. Is that your guys opinion too or am I just thinking wrong? Thanks!
