'17 GA LB Mo Burnam (former UT commit)

Zero people on this board know what the coaches tell these kids. The coaches may say "Here's your offer. In order to keep it you have to......". That could be academic progress, progress in reaching a target weight, target in certain skills, or anything the coach thinks they need improvement in. My point is, you can speculate all you want but in reality you don't know sh!t..

Correct we don't know

That's why I have discussed both the notion of a "conditional" commitment and a commitment where a kid thinks he has a spot

The point is it is unfair to criticize Butch when a kid is supposedly dropped because it may have been conditional.

So is it fair to criticize him when the kid says he was lied to?

That has happened and fwiw I don't blame cbj for such things. I blame the system

Sometimes kids take something different from a conversation than what was intended. With some it may be sour grapes. Maybe Butch has mislead a recruit. I also think sometimes the staff may wrongly evaluate a prospect and it may best for the kid not to come rather than coming and being disgruntled and transfer out.

I am with you on that

Sept 1 is the date a kid should be able to sign an NLI IMO.

Open signing period from that point forward

That's my solution to the issue. Again I don't blame cbj I just blame the current system

I'd go for that. Kid won't sign, coaches know to be careful. Coaches won't let you sign, you know you're a back up option.

While it is the system, you don't have to choose to fall in line with that system.

We damn sure are elite when it comes to recruiting. Even in our worst times we have always been able to go in and steal a recruit from the lower Power 5 schools late in the process. Owen Williams is a great example. That's the level school we are competing against when we take marginal commits early.

Thanks for parsing my post to try to bolster your nonpoint. :) Butch's modus operandi has allowed us to hold fast and true to the Chance Halls, Emmanuel Moseleys and Jacquain Blakeleys while trading the Marquez Fords and Tim Harts for Darren Richmonds and Tyler Byrds. He does his best to get them set up with good programs and they generally end up with Rutgers/Memphis landing spots. Doesn't lend itself to hugs and kumbaya's, but Butch's FIRST priority is to the program he was hired to take care of...and he continually does it. Can't please everybody but in the end those that detract and second guess will pause long enough to enjoy the product...before commencing with same blah blah blah. :). Good trade IMO FWIW NASDAQ BITCOIN

Unless I am blind this kid is the only committment that Jones didn't retweet something from. I haven't looked at the other coaches Twitter but jones did retweet all the rest

I think the chances are high some AD intern was in charge of all those RT's yesterday. I know how we love a good conspiracy though.

I would give some serious odds that some intern type did those tweets but I also would bet serious $ a very specific list was given to them

Perhaps this was just a mistake

I know the the other coaches retweeted a lot. I would like to know if they retweeted this kid but I don't have time to look. Lol

In order to Retweet there has to be a predicate tweet...so maybe the kid doesn't tweet...just sayin'
