'17 GA LB Solon Page III (UT signee)

Page said Thigpen was most impressed with his 6-foot-2, 210-pound frame, speed and lengthy arms — assessments [Kell head coach Derek] Cook agrees with.

Whenever Page breaks through the line and gets into the faces of opposing quarterbacks, Cook feels his longer arms make it tough for the QBs to get the ball off before he takes them to the ground. When he is in the opposing backfield playing against the run, Page’s arms make it tough for tailbacks to scramble outside.

Page’s 40-yard dash time of 4.59 seconds also gives him the speed needed to cover receivers, and his past experiences of playing in the secondary gives him experience playing in space. Other strengths include Page’s ability to read his keys and match up well against tight ends.

Hmm don't think we keep Page.

Why do people keep saying this? He literally fits the mold of almost every LB butch has put on the field (or recruited) since he's been here. Long, athletic guys that can play in space. Is his competition bad or something? Is he really not 6'2? Is it the stars? I like Page's game. I'd be perfectly fine with a LB class of Page, Bemebry and Henderson.

So you want to dump Burnam?

they look at his star rating and say this kind of thing. Its ridiculous. Saw the kid play the other day and hes exactly the type of OLB they like. Hes has the exact same skill set as Jaquan Henderson to be honest. I think they will both fit perfect here.

Don't think that's happening. Tennessee seems to like Page more than people might assume based on his rating. He told me yesterday that he's up to 207 pounds, and I still think he's a pretty good athlete.

Got a lot of bulking up to do to be an SEC lb.

You can put on 30 pounds of pretty good muscle in two years, which, barring some issues with our current linebackers, is how long he will have to bulk up before seeing the field. I don't see a problem with that, as long as he fits the mold the coaches are looking for.

I think we do personally, he's the only one I can think of that's an obvious drop IMO. His film is not that impressive and neither is his offer list. Maybe the coaches see something there but IMO we have other needs and 3 LBs would be fine.

Hell Al Wilson wasn't a huge guy coming out of HS.

I didn't say Page couldn't bulk up. Just an observation on where he is now and where he will need to be in the future. This was even mentioned in the video by Woody IIRC.
