'17 IL WR Jeff Thomas

Can you all imagine if we got Thomas and Harris to go with Murphy? That would have to be the best WR class in the country

Likely with us missing out on acouple of CBs this class. Byrd will get a look on defense. VN is not the only place reporting this. Hubbs said the same thing on friday when he was on the radio.

so did Callahan or Brice...can't remember which but it was on 247

Thanks. Yeah we are paper thin at CB now... Byrd could be a huge help there

Would rather him at CB than WR regardless of Malone's decision.

Move Berry to WR/Hybrid and get the ball in his hands 5 to 7 times per game.

Doesn't sound like he's going to qualify. Illinois leads with Louisville behind them.

I realize this kids has got it done on the field this past year but has he got his grades together?

Lol....vandy much?

Stay with us jbr82! Legitimate question for a top receiver who has Illinois as his current favorite yet had previous interest by Bama before they and other Power 5 schools cooled on him. If grades have improved then take a chance but were already taking chances with Murphy being a potential non-qualifier.

If he can get into Illinois, he can get into Tennessee.

Now if we are talking about Illinois taking a chance on a potential non qualifier and Tennessee not taking the chance, that is a different discussion.

Reminds of the McKenzie situation when he showed out in the ua game a couple years ago

He didn't show out in that game. Kyle Phillips and Darrin Kirkland did. Maybe you're thinking of the Opening?

Edit: You meant Isiaah McKenzie I see. Makes sense. :hi:

Calling my shot here. We get Helfrich and this guy is a vol. purely a guess with no info. He looks like an Oregon offense type a player. Deathony Thomas type. He wants love and TN shows love. He wants a wide open offense for a playmaker and that is Helfrich

I'd be very happy with getting Helfrich and this kid. I think if we get this Thomas it also opens the door wide for Byrd to move to CB. I think he will switch no matter what but getting this kid who is a similar skill set would ease the blow of losing Byrd on offense.

Can't believe I forgot about him. What a player.

I got a feeling this is going to be a tough pull with all the new schools trying to get him how .
