'17 IN QB Hunter Johnson (Former UT Commit 8/23/15) (Clemson commit)

So you're satisfied with the recruiting this year?
We still have several spots to fill before we finish. I think there's this panic every year and year after year we finish strong. No reason to think we won't finish strong this year coming off a 9-4 season topped with a skull dragging of purple vandy.

Is that response your way of avoiding the question?

Sure, I'll recant my statement. How many non legacy/ non Tennessee high school players have been great for us in the last two cycles?

My point is that in state players and legacies very much played a huge role in Butch's success. In state talent hasn't been as good this year, and its showing. Without it, Butch has struggled. There's no way to deny it. UK is recruiting just as well as UT is this year.

Kentucky is averaging 3.05 stars while we are averaging 3.53 stars.... They are not recruiting at the same level we are.

The 5-7 should've been 6-6.
The 7-6 should've been 8-5.
The 8-4 should've been at least 10-2 if not 11-1.

This staff has left wins on the field every year. Other coaches are reminding recruits of this.

Well, if we continue to leave wins on the field but we trend up every year like we have been when he started here, eventually we'll be in a championship and it will break our way. Just stop.

This is true. Also we are just a mid pack team. 8-4 isn't elite. Once Butch gets us to 10-2 and 11-1 then I will call him a great coach. Right now he still has lots to prove. We are trending the right way but we need more. Big year next year.

Also, many of the legacy players were huge recruiters for us. Helped with guys like Kirkland(McKenzie was the sole reason he committed us)
Jason croom( a Dooley commit) was a huge reason Kamara came here.

My point is the cards fell right with Butch the first two years, and now with a normal year, he has been mediocre.

Mmmkay, so is it fair to deduct Nick Saban's in-state players away before judging his recruiting ability? In addition to players already mentioned, Shy Tuttle, Preston Williams, Venzell Boulware, Darren Kirkland JR were all out of state and should all have very good careers.

Please do, and be sure to list the legacy and instate players so we can see the ratio.

Also why are you constricting the parameters to 2 years? This dude named Josh Dobbs is from Georgia.

Smh, we have like 2 legacies contributing: TKJr and Berry.

How much you charge to rotate my tires?

Without looking, we have the 2nd best average star rating behind Bama at about 3.6 don't we? I feel like you are confusing this crappy week for mediocre recruiting. It hasn't been as good as it has the last two years...but its still good.

I don't need to answer your question when others have already answered.

But your question doesn't even apply to the argument. You're asking for out of state guys that have made an impact as a bearing for how successful Butch has been recruiting.

That leaves out guys like Preston Williams and Darrell Taylor who were huge recruits that are just waiting their turn. Get a grip, man.

Also wonder what this says about Nick Sheridan as QB coach. Maybe that isn't gonna happen and that could have had some play as well. Some people have been mentioning it and could have some substance to it. All in all though I'd say it's due to the amount of numbers and how good the QBs we have are.

Gotcha. Just felt like a told you so thread. My bad for misinterpreting. But I do agree that Clemson isn't surprising. They don't seem to have anyone behind Watson.

EXACTLY why the kid is flipping to Clemson...no competition behind Watson...likely chance he plays as early as year one. At UT he would be sitting at third string and likely not play for at least two years...maybe even three.

How has he been mediocre when he is essentially pulling in the same level of athlete he has the last two years?

Because he can't take 272929272 kids?

GTFO.

Lol are you comparing Butch to Saban?

Saban gets whoever he wants and finished top 3 every year. All of yall seem content with a top 25 class.
