'17 IN QB Hunter Johnson (Former UT Commit 8/23/15) (Clemson commit)

Nope. Thats not evidence that KM was the sole reason Kirkland committed. Just using what you think you know as evidence is not evidence. Keep digging that hole chief.

Ok, I also know that people close to the program said HJ was the hope for the future, not JG. This is a former player that speaks to the coaches almost daily.

Whoa...now you are playing the insider card? Damn, man...you are really desperate to win this e-argument.

Clemson has two 4* QB's in addition to Watson who could still be there in 2017 (though unlikely) "ahead" of him. It's not like we're the only ones with solid QB's on the roster. And few schools skip a QB class, so most QB's will always have someone a year ahead of them.

From Fortenberry...

I think as Johnson looked closer at Tennessee's makeup and what they did with Dobbs and the skill set of Guarantano, I think that played a part of this decision. In talking to a few tonight I think the decision to move on was in part the fact that Guarantano may be a better fit for the offense in some eyes.

And VFL34 is some message board mouthbreather? Give it a rest, you have no credibility even with your fictional insider knowledge

List all of the current commits who actually was wanted by BAMA. Just because it says they have an offer from there, doesn't mean it's a committable offer. This class looks a lot like Dooley/Butch's 2013 class.

They wanted JG, Ryan Johnson, Marquill Osbourne, Kongbo, and Alexis Johnson off the top of my head.

Not overly suprised by this decommitment. Pro style Qb isn't a fit in this offense. Have to have a DT Qb.JG is a perfect fit for this offense. You can bet Dabo pointed out our lack of passing production also.Dobbs is a great kid, great at running but hasn't progressed in the passing game imo.

Very compelling evidence.

Except the fact that Kirkland committed to UT weeks before the all-star game.

Yes, a coach getting fired was why he committed. Then the new coach turned his head, but the 5* legacy player helped reaffirm his commitment.

I'm so happy all of you are content with a 20-25 ranked class. It did wonders for Fulmer's last years and Dooley...

We aren't content with a 20-25 ranked class, we just understand recruiting.

I'm sure they're telling a former player, "You know, we have this really highly rated, highly recruited guy that fits our offense perfectly and plays at a high school with the #1 schedule in the country, but we really don't see a future there. I mean, just about every school wanted him, including the defending national champions, but he's not our guy. "

This guy literally hits all of the buttons.

NTB, do you happen to be from Bucksnort?

No? Not claiming to be an insider, but that statement was said by someone that is close to the program.

One positive was that TL wouldn't come if HJ was still committed, so maybe there is hope.

If a guy was able to attain an 89 rating with 30 players, it should be much higher with only 20. That's basic math.

Please burn all your UT gear. Please delete this website from your favorites. Go elsewhere and find another team to mourn over. You have officially lost it friend.

So what do you make of the DCG, Kongbo, and Osborne news?

I think it sucks. We will try to hang on with the last two and try to get DCG back in the fold...but recruiting isn't over and we are still in on a lot of highly ranked guys.

Clemsons offense isn't that different than ours. I don't see a pure pocket passer working in their offense. Dam Dabo is a snake oil salesman.

Lol, I wasn't around these boards during the Dooley years. I'm sure no one defended him at all.

Wait, did KM help reaffirm his commitment or was he the sole reason? Sorry for the confusion, just trying to keep up with your fluid explanation of how DKjr ended up in Knoxville.

DCG was offered by his in state school which loses virtually no one from their state they want.

Kongbo visited a school 140 miles for where his family lives. Knoxville is 3,000 miles away and he still hasn't decommited. I wouldn't blame him if he did though. It is the same distance away as Iceland is from Knoxville.

Martinez isn't gone and even if he goes VQ said Osborne may look around a little, but he personally talks to Butch Jones even week. Guy has stuck after visiting Ohio St. He is an EE, he isn't going anywhere and there hasn't been any Osborne news.

Sorry, Brady Hoke losing his job and KM were the two reasons why he is here.
