1. Butch is the best recruiter. It doesn't get much better than him. Once he gets a national title, or sec championship getting a top 5 class becomes much easier. Saban recruits good because he has multiple championships. 2. You can not sign over 25 players every year. He front loaded his classes because Tennessee was Vanderbilt talent wise before butch got here. the rebuilding he is doing is phenomenal.
You do know Mckenzie(legacy) was the sole reason Kirkland committed, and the other 3 were in-state players.

If Butch was as awesome as everyone thinks, this class would have Hardman, Kyle Davis, Holyfield, etc. already locked up.
The perfect storm ( legacies, rare year of instate talent) made Butch look Saban-esque.
I'm just surprised so many have unfailing confidence in Butch after the Florida and Oklahoma games, plus the recruiting this year..
I totally agree, so our rating should be much higher than a class of 30. Butch should be cherry picking players. Do you think he's been able to cherry pick?
I'd say QD is a split between Dobbs and Manning. Just enough of a threat.
I think after Dobbs' last year, the OL will be far enough along development wise to allow a QB like Dormady to play his game and not hurt the run one bit. He will have time enough to sit in the pocket and tear apart a secondary.

Who the hell cares? Why does it matter? Your insistence that Butch deserves no credit for signing quality in-state players is ridiculous. And no, we don't know that McKenzie was the sole reason that Kirkland chose Tennessee and neither do you. I doubt he would want it getting around that his sole reason for a picking which college to attend was another young man.
Kid was afraid of JG and didn't want to sit the bench. Don't blame him. Adios.
