'17 IN QB Hunter Johnson (Former UT Commit 8/23/15) (Clemson commit)

Some real sour grapes in this thread, not a good look.

DW is the real deal, too. Pretty much a lock to go top 5. #1 overall depending on who is drafting and what their needs are.

Ah, there it is.

Like it or not, there's a difference. HJ was at Tennessee as a Tennessee commitment actively recruiting for Clemson with our coaches under the impression he was trying to persuade guys to join him at Tennessee.

He should have never come to that Junior Day without informing Tennessee’s coaches of his intentions to decommit. It was an immature, but dirty move.

Preston Williams went to AU as a Tennessee commit. The AU staff had to know there was risk in pursuing someone openly committed to another school. I'm not condoning his behavior on that trip either, and I wasn't one of those having a laugh at AU's expense after the fact. But those two situations are very different.

Andrew luck says hey

Yeah, I know about Luck. Watson is a better prospect. Quite a bit better if you ask me. Luck was a great QB in college but Watson has already put up bigger numbers and accomplished more as a sophomore. Watson is basically everything that is great about Luck (smart and accurate passer) but also is a considerably better athlete and runner. He's what every NFL GM dreams about having at QB right now. #1 pick.

Eh, I still think Luck is the better prospect. He played on less stacked teams that ran the ball more and still put up great numbers. Plus he had better size than Watson and his speed is pretty good as well. Running a 4.67 at 6'4 234 is no joke. Luck was pretty much the prototype QB a team wants to draft. Watson is also a great prospect, no doubt, but I'm not sure his bigger numbers and athleticism make him a better prospect than Luck was.

Watson is the front runner to be the first pick next spring, but he hasn't passed Luck as a pro prospect yet. Luck was the best QB prospect in a decade or more. Stats don't tell the whole story. Watson still has time to pass him up, but he's not there yet.

Disagree. Luck was considered one of, if not the best prospeft coming out of college since Peyton. Why do you think all these NFL GMs want true DT QBs?

They also blow

and take it up the a........... never mind

Clemson is Mega Maid from Spaceballs? I didn't know Mega Maid took it... you're right... never mind.

Watson is great but he is not better than Luck

I think it's possible Watson could end up being the better NFL QB potentially, since Luck hasn't quite lived up to his billing yet. Some lower rated QBs coming after Luck or around the same time have outperformed him.

But if we're talking prospects, Luck was the prototype franchise QB #1 pick.

Have you ever noticed how many 2017 Football recruits have a first name of Hunter...about 30. That is like the name Jim Bob on the Bama football team.:D

We're off track for the original discussion and point though. It's not Luck vs. Watson. I couldn't care less. I simply said Watson will be the #1 pick next year barring injury. It's as much of a lock as Luck being the #1 pick was in 2012.

Nothing is guaranteed. There have been many guys who were favorites to be the #1 pick that fell off the map because of poor play.

Look no further than Matt Barkley.

Nothing is guaranteed.
