'17 MS TE Chase Rogers (Former UT commit)

I would not compare Wolf to Rogers. Both may have been 3 star players but Wolf was ranked 325th overall and the 14th best TE, while Rogers is 848th overall and is ranked the 39th best TE. The difference there is huge.

I hope he sticks and balls out and then punches bowling in the nuts.

Did you see where I said I want him to flip? Did you see where I said he sucks? Did you see where I said we wasted a scholly on him? Cause I missed it.

I did see where I joked about Freeze having to buy him by simply extending an offer. You're comprehension is severely lacking and your rebuttals are child-like. Disagree with a post? Hope said poster gets knocked out. Definitely requires a lot of thinking to formulate that.

I found video footage of Newt and Bowling having a "discussion" on VN. LOL!

Would punching you in the nuts knock you out? #glassballs

Sounds like he has more than a passing interest in Ole Miss........

Chase grew disappointed about Ole Miss' late offer but once the communication was opened back up a couple weeks back all questions were left unanswered.

"Coach Harris apologized about everything that had happened. Once he explained the process I totally understood. I'm just honored I'm the tight end they want. This definitely gives me another option in case my mind changes."

The Ole Miss offer has always been something that he's dreamed of getting.

"My dad walked on there. My mom is the biggest Ole Miss fan I know (laugh). I grew up around Ole Miss. I've gone to their games since I was a little kid. I've just always been a big Ole Miss fan."

How do Chase separate the fan from his recruitment, if he does at all?

"I'm just keeping my options open. I'm still going to take all of my visits and take everything into consideration. I have not ruled anyone out in my final decision."

Three schools look to be under serious consideration.

"I'll take official visits to Tennessee, Oregon and Ole Miss. I'm going to get up to Ole Miss in the next week to two. Coach Harris sent me their practice schedule. I'm going to go up there and see them practice on a day we are not practicing. I plan on going up to Tennessee in a couple weeks too. I'll take my officials to all three of those schools."

What next?

"Right now I'm still committed to Tennessee. I don't plan on changing anytime soon but things can change. You never know. That's why I'm keeping all of my options open."
Rogers had 81 catches for 1,462 yards and 19 scores as a junior.

With the class filling up, I could easily see this guy going elsewhere.

Unfortunately I believe we know where this is headed.

Just saying there is a big difference between Wolf and Rogers. I liked Ellis myself but I wouldn't exactly say he was the greatest TE we have ever had. Loved his heart and what he accomplished though.

Of course he's not the best we ever had but he's proof that stars don't always matter. Good coaches recognize upside and do what they're paid to do. Coach up.

Sounds like he's set on Ole Miss. Plus with the family connections seems like a no brainer that he'd decommit. Only thing that might change that is if the NCAA brings down the hammer on Freeze.

Definitely sounds like he really likes Ole Miss and has ties there that are tugging on him. Would not be a surprise if he goes there now that they have offered.

It's tough at times to know is it the recruit wavering or the coaches starting to clear space. With 22-23 onboard, even tougher to tell.

That is a good point. I just think Rogers heart is with Ole Miss and the family connections are strong. OTOH we are filling up this class quickly and we will have to make room sometime.

I agree the ties to ole miss are there.

I'm always curious how straight forward coaches at any school are when it's time to make room. Do they call right away and just get it over with or do they just not call for a while. Kid doesn't hear from the school for 3-4 weeks, he knows what's up. If being honest as soon as I read Bumphus was coming in as a TE, I felt this kid might be out.
